WOW - I just sold my old gold........

Okay so I am the one who sent the wrong envelope to USGB on thursday and it arrived safely on friday. They just called me to ask permission to melt my gold into a bar for a more accurate reading and then they will call me back in a few hrs.I was alittle scared at first cause then I know I am sort of stuck with the price they give me but I really was not going to do anything else with this jewerly-I didn't want any of it so I guess whatever I get is better than nothing.I will post when I get the call.Has anyone else been asked to do this??

WOW gold prices are starting to take a dive... I think I might hold onto my gold until it starts going back up and hope it does...

I don't know what my problem is. I have my info from USGB since the start of this thread and I still haven't sent my gold, I probably lost $100 already. IDIOT!!!!:headache:

I just ran my package over to the Fedex box and sent it off to Goldfellow.
I hope the price of gold doesn't continue to fall :headache:
Also, I forgot to indicate the Disboard reference on my packing slip (mommy brain strikes again!) but I called the woman at Goldfellow on the phone and she said they'd "note me on the board" and give me the extra 10% when they get my stuff.
I will be insanely happy if it's enough to cover my hotel room deposit for our next trip. But really, it's all stuff that nobody wears...it just sits in boxes on the bureau. It's not even that much stuff, so I'll be pleasantly surprised if I get much at all. :thumbsup2
Thinking good thoughts for the price of gold to rise :cheer2:

This really sux. I sent mine to cash4gold.com. I ordered my envelope about 3 weeks ago when i started reading this thread ( b4 so many great things were said about the other companys). I get a check today for a whopping
46.81

heres the break up of what they are paying

DWT quanity 10.297 12 K unit price 2.62989 total price 27.08
DWT quanity 3.017 10 K unit price 2.10143 total price 6.34
DWt quanity 2.716 14 K unit price 3.15169 total price 8.56
COS- diamonds 46 chips 0.105 total price 4.81

I really dont know how much i should have gotten but i called them and told him I want going to accept it to return my gold. He ask me how much i was expecting I said 150.00 he put me on hold and offered me another 45.00 .
Now if my check would have been 90.00 to begin with I would have accepted it. But the way they low balled me to begin with I said NO THANK YOU please returm my items.

Can anyone look at those numbers and tell me what I should have been offered? I sure hope i get my items returned pretty quick.
I have to the only one who complained on this entire thread.

That's interesting. I wonder why they want to do that? Did you have high quality gold (22-24 kt. stuff) mixed in with lower kt. stuff? I really don't know, but I wonder if mixing the high kt. stuff with the lower stuff lowers the overall amt. of gold and they end up paying out less overall. I just sent in a couple of higher kt. pieces too, so I'll be interested in seeing how they handle it.

Yep, I understand. I was stupid not to send my stuff off when gold prices were hovering around $1000/oz. I was still "thinking about it". :headache: I just bit the bullet and sent mine in (they have it and I'm waiting for my call) but gold prices are tanking today, it figures. :sad2:

YOU DID THE RIGHT THING, by asking them to return it! If I am reading your post right, they tried to pay you $2.63 & $2.10 per DWT of 10k gold, and $3.15 per DWT of 14k gold..that is outrageously low!!

USGB is paying (per todays gold prices on their website):

$16.71 per DWT of 10k (this includes 10% deduction for less than 5OZ)
$23.43 per DWT of 14k (ditto)

So (if I'm reading your post right) you would have been offered apprx. $222.41 for the 10K
and $63.64 for the 14K..from USGB!!

Thanks for the help. the first price was suppose to be 12 K not 10 K (sorry)
Maybe I will get it back in time to send it USGB before the price completly tanks. If i get it back at all.... What a bunch of crooks at cash4gold.

No almost everything I had was 14k.Only 1 18k chain and my high school ring that was 10k.I am still waiting for them to callme back so we will see.I had around 4 oz I think so maybe that was why:confused3

I have no clue how to convert grams to oz's but I have an goldlink chain that weighs 93 grams and it's 18K bought in Saudi (my brother used to work there a while back) that my hubby never wears, could be a potentiell sell but I'm clueless to how much it would be worth even looking at all these sites! :rolleyes1

Wow! It must be pretty thick. 93 grams converts to around 3.2 ounces and they will pay you according to USGOLDBUYERS they are paying $33.49 minus 10% discount because it is not 5oz for 18 kt gold. I would say you have found yourself a little stash :woohoo: Now would your hubby let you get rid of it :rolleyes1

Question... with 62 pages I dont know if I can find this answer but..

What if there are stones in jewelry? Rings/earings? Will they send them back? Or just keep them? Thanks.

I'm waiting for my envelope to come now to forward all my gold. I have tons from old boyfriends and ex hubby. Maybe not so heavy but to much to keep for no reason. ;)

I'm still playing the waiting game...UGH, I really want to get an ipod touch, but don't dare until I get my payout;)

My package arrived at 9:10am on Thursday, so I hope to hear something tomorrow.

This is what I took to my "upscale" pawn shop (they only sell jewelry and baseball cards, sports memorabilia) on March 22nd.

I got $344.17 which I thought was pretty good for what I had. My san marco bracelet was the heaviest piece and I did have them remove the aquamarine from the one ring since it is a beautiful stone, my birthstone and over 1 carat
