Alright, so after my Disney Trip in August, we all agreed to make plans to go again next christmas in 2008. So, a couple of days ago, my neighbors went on a cruise. And my brother was talking about how "great" it was.

And now my mom wants to go on a cruise instead of Disney. And I'm really upset. I really wanted to go to Disney during Christmas, I was looking foward to it. Yeah, I know, it's fun to try new things, but, I was kinda looking foward to Disney.

So, I'm completly against cruises. And ever since I saw Titanic, I was never happy to be on a boat (Yes, I know it's unlikely we'll hit an iceberg and drown) but still, I was like.... o_O
Haha, I'm just rediculously paranoid like that.
And now I'll have to get into shape. (Which isn't a bad thing xD )
I don't want to be stuck on the beach, even upsetter (ahaha bad grammer xD) because of my self conciousness on the beach. Yeah, you go swimming and all at Disney, but I feel a lot more secure about myself at Disney, because...well, I don't know. I just do. I'm not huge, I just don't have a very, bathing suit type body.

And no, my mom says a Disney cruise is out of the question.
I think I'd be less against this if this wasn't replacing my Disney vacation.
I know me and my cousin can always rely on a good time at Disney. It's garanteed. But on a cruise? That's really...blah....

Ugh! I just needed to vent :'(
Anything dissapoint you recently?

Melissa...
I just posted about 1 minute ago how I didn't want to go on a cruise because of Titanic. xD
I found that interesting.
And I would feel the EXACT same way if my mom had told me.
But I'm sorry. =(
I would want to go to WDW too.

The only thing I'm dissapointed about now is one of my friends.

I'm not the only one who thinks that! I was starting to think people would think I'm crazy. :]

Your parents shouldn't drag you on a cruise unless YOU agree. I've never been on a cruise, but I'm sure it's fun,so I hope it works out! Good luck!

Basically the same thing happened to me.
Our summer Disney vacation for next year changed to a Disney cruise, then to a regular cruise.

It's not too bad, since I just went in August and I'm going in October.
But still. I'm kinda bummed.

But cruises are fun. And beaches are fun, too!
I feel your pain, but you're still guaranteed to have a good time.

Oh my gosh Melissa I know exactly what your talking about !

My mom wants to go on the cruise instead of Disney this year but im like uh no ?!?!

She said its really expensive though so shes not sure, but still Disney is a lot more amazing!

P.S.: I went to Disney in August too.:goodvibes

cruises are fun but still not comparable to disney. i mean basicaly the only thing you have to do on a cruise is sleep late, swim, more swiming, mabe get off where u stop, ,then at night dance. repaet that for 8 days and u have a normal cruise. except for the fact my last cruise was through a hurricane and the water was soo terrible and all the dancces were cancelled :sad1:

p.s. i was in disney in august also

I went to WDW in Augest too! and I went on a Disney Cruise. trust me as the cruise goes on your not as parinoid (sp?) but I got bored quite easily on the cruise, once you've explored the whole boat it gets pretty boring. and if you want to have fun make sure you remember all the times for activities.

but seriously if you don't want to go, your parents shouldn't make you.

I've been on two cruises.
Yeah, they were both Disney.. Land/Sea.
But take my word, Disney or not THEY ARE FUN.
You don't have to spend time on a beach, you can do shore excursions like parasailing, climbing water falls in Ochos Rios, water rafting and all sorts of neat stuff.
There's also teen clubs (it appears that RCCL is better than Carnival for this) where you can meet other people etc.
It's more relaxed than Disney, but not as fun.

Ask you mother if she'd do this:

Go down early to Florida, before the cruise and spend a few days at Disney. Stay offsite at a cheap hotel, and do a couple days at Disney. The drive from Orlando to Cape Canaveral is about 45 minutes, so you'd have to rent a car.
Yes it'd be slightly more expensive, but it's a thought.

Remember. there's no icebergs in the Caribbean.

Haha. This is what my mom tells me but I'm saying "Nu uh. I don't care, I still think we might sink."

I'm not the only one who thinks that! I was starting to think people would think I'm crazy. :]

lol. My parents do think I'm crazy because as stated above there isn't icebergs in the carribean, but I'm still scared.

Thanks. =)

Oh and I hope you have fun on the cruise.

Yah won't sink.
People aren't as sure of themselves as they were back then. When you've got thousands of people going on your cruise boats every year, EVERY SAFETY PRECAUTION NEEDS TO BE TAKEN.

As for people who think they would get seasick... a lot of boats have things on the bottom that make the voyage nice and smooth. It's only really bad maybe the first night and the last night, and if you're going during hurricane season.

also remember that most of the people died in the titanic from freezing to death in the icy water. and most of the rest died from being locked down in the steerage which is illegal these days.

We did that a couple of years ago.
We spent a week in Disney on site, and drove to Cape Canaveral, spent two days there on the beach, then went on a four day Disney cruise.

It was a ton of fun.
I didn't get bored at all, and I met a bunch of kids.
And Cataway Cay is AMAZING.

We did almost the same.
But did the Land/Sea.. like..

First time:

4 days in Disney. 4 day cruise. Week in Orlando.

Second time:

Week in Orlando, 4 Days in Disney. 4 Day cruise. 3 more days in Disney.

I love Castaway Cay. They had such pretty shells there, I would spell out random stuff on my beach towel.
The only thing that's bad about the Disney four days, is Nassau. Nassau is possibly the most boring place to stop at, with sucky excursions.

So true. Nassau was boring. And sketchy.
I didn't feel really safe there.

what part were u in. i went to nassau but it was a island that had a bridge to it and the place i stayed at was atlantis. i looved the place but the people that worked there were sleezy and they had an attitude. i mean the place was amazing it had like 10 diffrent pools and and the place ws the size of like epcot and mgm combined but outside of that place it was really sleezy

I LOVE cruises!!! Granted I have only been on the Disney cruise but still, i love the water and the beach. but yes they can get boring, but you said you were going with your cousins? i think... well that should make it soooo much better. I took my best friend on the disney cruise for my 16th birthday and we pretty much never saw my mom and we had soooo much fun, we are already planning a regular cruise for the spring break when she is in college, which will be about another 2 years cuz she is a year younger than me, but w/e. We might go on with our parents again soon. And with the whole selfconfidence thing, you just have to be comfortable in yourself and other people will be comfortable with you too. but if people see that you aren't okay with the way that you look they will start to judge you. That is how I became more self confident. I don't care what other people think of me, I'm not putting on a show for them I'm putting on a show for myself. I don't live for other people I live for myself. So just be comfortable with yourself and others wont think anything of it.

have fun on your vacation.

We just pulled up and docked there for a couple of hours.
So like, in the heart of the city.
We saw Atlantis, but decided to explore the stores instead of taking a water-taxi there.
We shopped for like an hour and then got back on the ship.

Where we were, it was just kinda shady.
And had nothing to do, unless you wanted to take a taxi to a beach somewhere.

bad mistake. .the third day we were so tired of the peoples attitudes at atlantis we went to the main island (right next to the boat dock) and explored. after 2 hours me and my mom thought that someone was gonna kill us cause we are americans and we came from atlantis. so we went back and were forced 2 pay atlantis rediclous prices. it was 8 dollars for a slice of crappy pizza and like 4 for a can of soda. yeah u should of visited atlantis its completly beautiful just amazingly expensive and the people are terrible.

Im sorry to add this melissa, but disney is beautiful for christmas. :]
