Wow, how rediculous am I?!

I think you have every right to be unhappy about it, but I think a cruise sounds AWESOME!!!

I'd feel the same exact way.

My mom keeps hinting that she wants to go on a cruise instead of our WDW Sept. 08 trip. Cruises don't interest me AT ALL. They just...don't.

I've been on 3 disney cruises, but not any other cruise line. Trust me... I would totally do those besides wdw! They are the best thing in the world (IMO)! I have made life-long friends and love them. If you have any questions just pm me!

what part were u in. i went to nassau but it was a island that had a bridge to it and the place i stayed at was atlantis. i looved the place but the people that worked there were sleezy and they had an attitude. i mean the place was amazing it had like 10 diffrent pools and and the place ws the size of like epcot and mgm combined but outside of that place it was really sleezy

Well, if someone was on a cruise, they'd dock at the dock ;]
We stayed in the main area with all the crap shops. I don't like Nassau, I don't like taxi drivers trying to get me to get a ride to a place I'm already at, I don't like the ladies asking me if I want my hair braided (with a cheeseburger in hand) and I HATE THE STRAW MARKET.

Aww.I'm the exact same way (aswell as my mom). After seeing Titanic and Poseidon,we would rather just stay on land. :p

I'm really sorry.Maybe talk to your mom about how your not comfortable with a cruise. I'm sure they would rather not go on the cruise then have one person of their family unhappy -especially during christmas-.

I hope it goes well.:goodvibes

I've been on two cruises.
Yeah, they were both Disney.. Land/Sea.
But take my word, Disney or not THEY ARE FUN.
You don't have to spend time on a beach, you can do shore excursions like parasailing, climbing water falls in Ochos Rios, water rafting and all sorts of neat stuff.
There's also teen clubs (it appears that RCCL is better than Carnival for this) where you can meet other people etc.
It's more relaxed than Disney, but not as fun.

Ask you mother if she'd do this:

Go down early to Florida, before the cruise and spend a few days at Disney. Stay offsite at a cheap hotel, and do a couple days at Disney. The drive from Orlando to Cape Canaveral is about 45 minutes, so you'd have to rent a car.
Yes it'd be slightly more expensive, but it's a thought.

Remember. there's no icebergs in the Caribbean.

I think its a good idea but that would cost a lot especially since you are off-site and still going too disney. Especially when cruises cost a lot in the first place.

The price in cruises fluctuates.
It depends on what category you're staying in (like, inside stateroom, stateroom with window, or stateroom with verandah), whether there's a deal going on at the time, and what time of the year it is.
My parents are going on one in the Spring, it's kind of cheaper for them, because the Canadian dollar is worth more than the American now.

Anyhoo's, I wasn't saying like a week. I was saying like a couple of days. She doesn't have to stay offsite, but either way she'd need a car to get to Cape Canaveral.

I know. I hated it.
And this one lady kept on telling my dad what beautiful kids he had, I guess in hopes of making him like her so we would go on her taxi?
It was just strange.

And then we went into some shop and my little sister was like, two or three at the time.
So she grabbed this UGLY flamingo-bell thing and dropped it on the floor and it shattered.
The lady who owned the place almost had an aneurysm.
My dad was like, "It's okay, it's okay, we'll buy it!"
And then it kinda grew on us...

So that's why we have a krazy-glued famingo bell from Nassau in our kitchen right now :]

not always. atlantis paid like taxi drivers with big vans to drive people back2 the mainland from there property. it was a ten person van and the other 8 people on the van went to visit atlantis for the day and were heading back to there ship.

I have always wanted to cruise but my dad has visioned in his mind for some reason that all the boats are casino, smocky, sea sickness things where you have to spend money at every corner. He doesnt like anything like that and says that there a rip off and i would love to cruise disney or not

Thanks guys, your opinions are making me feel so much better.
I might sit down, and talk with my mom about it tomorrow.
And I'll try to keep an open mind about it.
I'll let you guys know what happens :]

Thanks again for all of this, you don't even know how much this is helping me :] :goodvibes

Course it's not always.
But a lot of the people who drive taxi's do stuff like 'You want a drive downtown?' when you're obviously already downtown. A lot of the vans are dirty and torn, it's just not appealing.

ure generaly right but the cabs that they had at atlantis were nicer newer vans since atlantis is a fancy place.

It is.
But a lot people don't go to Atlantis when they're in Nassau. Some do, most people don't. It's like $220 for a day pass.
So if you're not going to Atlantis for any reason, those busses probably won't be available.

I don't see Nassau as something worth getting off the boat for.

im rreally sorry to keep arguing with you but the days when cruise ships were docked atlantis was swormed with people leaving me 2 think that alot of people do come. the reson a day pass is 220 dollars is because they give u ure own hotel room for the day 2 break and change and alll that stufff.
