So finally after reading tons of post about getting back into shape, I decided to just go out and run today. I can't remember when I last ran.........maybe the end of June!!

I forgot how hard it really is! I only ran about 3 miles and I'm beat. Not toooo out of shape, just can't go as fast as I used to. I figure it'll take me a month or two to be back up to speed.

Hope I'm not alone in this re-lapse of running again. I need support since I only do this for a few months, then get bored with running again. I just can't keep my drive going anymore. I think I wasted it all back in HS and college. Well......talk to you guys soon!!!

I found that training for an event keeps me motivated. Consider registering for an endurance event that will take a few months to train for then find a training plan that works for you. I've been using the Disney runs but you could use something local too. I found if I have a run that is "scheduled" as part of a training plan I am a lot more likely to do it then if I just run when I "feel like it." If you commit to 2 or 3 of these per year you will have a concrete training plan to keep you moving.

Happy Running :)

;)It really a hard thing to go back to a hard palce when we have been staying in a comfortable one. So it is the same for ous to do it again. We must have a much stronger heat than everbefore! Come on babies!:thumbsup2

+1 on training for an event. I'm in the midst of a weight loss and fitness renaissance myself, and I need that goal of an upcoming event to keep me focused and steady in my training. Its a lot easier to push off running when there's really no consequence to not running. But if you know there's an event out there, that's what gets me out of bed and onto the road.

Good luck!

I agree.....training for an event seems to be the best way to stay motivated to run. I have a tough time getting off the couch but when I have a half marathon to train for, it's a bit easier. I still have to push myself but I work harder when I have a goal. Find an event that sparks your interest and go pound that pavement. (I'm about to start training for the wdw half marathon). Enjoy!
