Wow...did I screw up

We booked a CRT reservation 6 months ago. At the time, we didn't know the magic hours, etc. Yesterday, I searched online yesterday and found an option that I liked better. So, I went ahead and booked it. Then, I canceled the other reservation. Turns out, I booked the new one for the wrong week! We won't even be there that week! Now, we can't get anything! I am completely and totally screwed? Is there any prayer of being a walk up and getting in? We are headed there next week!

I've been doing nothing but trying. Calls, internet, etc. I know it won't ruin our vacation, but it's the one thing my daughter keeps talking about!

Keep trying. People cancel ADR's all the time. You never know what you may stumble accross a few days before you leave. Also, even though it is not the same experience, have you tried to get an ADR for Akershus? Maybe you can get something to fit into your schedule so that your daughter can still get a princess fix?

As a side note, IMHO, the only way that CRT is better than Akershus is that it is in the castle. We like the food and the interaction better at Akershus.

I say book the back up and keep trying several times a day for CRT! Maybe even a different meal than what you had planned or even a different time..

Even if you leave and still dont have it check daily with the hotel or even at the podium at CRT.. Good luck! Let us know if you get in!

I have read a number of posts from folks who were able to snag a last minute ADR for some of the most popular restaurants in WDW. I would be searching the online ADR system frequently, if something does pop up for CRT it's gonna go quick. Good luck.

One year, we were able to book CRT at the rest area on the Florida Turnpike for the next day. It happens. Just keep checking.

As a side note, IMHO, the only way that CRT is better than Akershus is that it is in the castle. We like the food and the interaction better at Akershus.

2) I would try a walk up.
3) You never know.
4) SIL walked up on a Wednesday looking for an opening for 4-people.
5) He snagged an ADR for the next day - Thanksgiving Day !!!!!!!!

One thing to remember is that Disney will charge a reservation for the full breakfast/lunch/ or dinner if the reservation is not cancelled prior to a specific cancellation deadline. What I mean is that if someone made a 10 am Tuesday reservation for CRT, that person has until 10 am Sunday to cancel before he/she is charged for the breakfast (assuming that the cancellation window is 48 hours prior to the reservation time). So, if I am looking for a 10 am on a Tuesday CRT reservation, I would start calling at 10 am on the Sunday before. A castmember suggested that I do that and it worked for me. (I would call Disney Dining to find out what their final cancellation period is... 48 or 24 hours prior) It is a risk, but it can work.

Is there any way to take just you and your daughter? Often tables for 2 are easier to get a ressie for. Just an idea. Good luck! We had ressies one year for breakfast at the castle, my daughter's biggest request for that trip. She woke up with a fever in the middle of the night and we had to cancel breakfast. Amazingly I was able to rebook for the following day and she was healthy and we went and had a nice time. I hope it works out.

I've been looking for 2 and 3. If it is 2, my wife will take her. It wouldn't be so bad, but we had been hyping it up to my daughter (3 1/2 years old) and she keeps talking about it!

Try a reservation for 3. Sometimes its easier to get the larger tables than the smaller tables.

Thanks! I got the one at Epcot the day we are planning to be there! So, that is good. I keep looking for CRT just in case, but we are happy about the Epcot one!

We've done CRT once and Akershus twice. Our girls enjoyed both equally. It's not quite the same as eating in the castle, but for most girls, I think the real thrill is meeting the Princesses.
