This afternoon I was explaining to a friend when and how to make ADRs on the Disney website and tried to make a dummy ADR for BOG as an example.......... well I put in dates from now until November 2013 i.e. up to 180 days from now and could not get any times coming up available at all :scared1::scared1:

I hope things get better by the time I make my real ADRs next April :rotfl2::rotfl2:

We booked our hotel through a US travel agent and she said availability was only on the 180 day mark each day and booked up solid after that. However, she did say she'd had no problem booking the day before, as it's a credit card hold to reserve a table, some bookings become available the day before as that's the deadline to cancel and not lose money on the credit card.

She advised to check each day for the following day and be flexible and something will probably come up. At which point you'll probably have to shuffle others around. That's what we're going to do anyway.

Ive also been checking the adrs for a while-out of interest.
Ive found some adrs for the latest available dates but they've been late, around 8-9pm. Ive found its better to search by time rather than dinner.
I thought there'd be some late availability too, not sure if its somewhere we want to go yet. still got ages to decide :thumbsup2

I have been checking every single day for a dinner reservation at BOG at any time on any one of 5 nights and have been getting absolutely nothing!

I have already decided we are going to try and get a walk-up (have read that if you get there right at opening you might get lucky) but I was hoping we could get an ADR so I could mention DS's Birthday and maybe get the grey stuff.

Isn't the booking window really 180+10 from the first day of your Disney reservation? If you're staying off-site, then you can only book in the 180 day window.

Yes, you can book 10 days' worth of ADRs 180 days prior to check-in at a Disney resort. If you are staying off-site, you can only book each ADR 180 days (or less) prior.

I mentioned that because it wouldn't surprise me that the BOG reservations are being snapped up in those extra 10 days by people "in the know" and there would be no reservations available by the time the 180-day window is reached.

I've been able to secure a BOG ADR (my choice of time too) for october 30th
But to be honest, I called at reservations opening time, exactly at 180 days, and only got an ADR slot on the 10th day of my stay (so really 180+10)

Since then I made dummy bookings for another ADR there, and it's booked solid.

So my advice for anyone willing to secure a BOG reservation : be a disney resort guest, and try to schedule your BOG day as far out as possible within the +10 day period, or on a day that's beyond the first 10 days of your stay, (e.g. on day 11 of your stay, and make the reservation the day after your ADR window opens.

That's for maximizing the odds of getting that holy grail of a reservation :)

I got BoG for the second night of our stay booking on line no problems. I'm thinking now I got lucky!

I made sure I booked our Be Our Guest reservation on our 180+10 day and got a slot on the day I wanted for November.
I've been on recently to see if there's anything else or to amend my booking and there is absolutely nothing available!

Really glad I booked when I did!

I wanted it for our last night and got the adr - we are onsite so used the 180 + 10 advantage.

I think the parties (MNSSHP and MVMCP) are also affecting things - I've read BOG on non party nights is harder to get.

Another tip would be to use the Itinerary Planning Office if you are lucky enough to stay in Club Level. We got an ADR for Chef Mickey through the IPO for our 11th (final) night at the 180 day mark - we shouldn't have been able to get that reservation until the next day. Makes me believe that the IPO pre-reserves all ADRs for their guests well in advance of the 180 day window (meaning they get first priority).

I had planned for us to go here around 4 the night of our MNSSHP would be fun to meet the beast in our costumes. But nothing was available. I thought people didn't know it was a party night the day the party dates were released still nothing :(. I have managed to bag one ADR but its at 8.45 kind of late for DD x

When I booked I tried a party of 3 and could only get silly early or silly late times.

I searched for 4 and had my pick of sensible times. Sometimes you have to play the game :confused3 They only charge the CC if no one shows and they will amend the booking to 3 at the podium no problems.

If your an odd number party it's always worth checking the next even number up :thumbsup2

Now that IS worth knowing. I was trying for 3 as that's how many are in my friends party. It didn't even occur to me to try for 4 people ...... that is a very good tip. Thank you :thumbsup2

If you don't get a reservation ask at the podium when you are there. We went at Easter and asked the podium CM said" oh no we are fully booked but let me check" then it was "oh wow we have just had a cancellation I can seat you but you may have a thirty minute wait" The wait was more like 10 minutes and I was so happy. However as I was waiting about 5 other families asked about reservations, and the CM gave the same speech to all of them!! All were sat just after us, so,it's worth asking.

By the way we were in the west wing which was very dark, we couldn't wait to get out as throughout he meal my son claimed it was creepy and things were touching him. ( I think it was the air conditioning - at least I hope it was). In fact we ended up cancelling our July reservation.

A very valid point and having done September / October 3 years in a row, I think that people underestimate the far reaching effect that the parties have on non party nights, particularly because it's a slower season in general. However, we have found MK on non party nights once MNSSHP kicks off, not to be too dissimilar from our Easter week trips.
