Wow! Alamo's rental rates for SUVs!

In our local newspaper this weekend, Alamo had a HUGE ad about being the WDW rental car service and announced that they would have a great rate for SUV if you use their code US.

Well, I checked it out and their rate for the week of Dec 31st was $199 with the code and $479 without! Yikes!

Since I wasn't sure if I'd want to fly, I checked it from Atlanta's airport roundtrip and the rate was only $246.49!

I rented an SUV on my last trip and it cost me over $500 but it did spoil me. I was so glad I found this!

Thanks - I just booked the SUV for 12/29-1/04. Not too fond of off-site or Alamo, but I will hold the deal for now. EVERYONE else is a fortune at that time.

Pluto, I can remember quite clearly last year's car rental rates for that time ($600 for a week with a Park Avenue - what a rip off! BTW, I did get my Caddy [Seville] from Avis in July!) Looks like you lucked out.

Any idea if the code expires? I tried for april and got no cars available. Is the code US a rate code or coupon code?

Warning - pre-register with their frequent renter program, quicksilver I think it is called. You can swipe your card and go to your car, otherwise you can wait in line for literally hours at Alamo! We learned the hard way a few years back and have never been back.
