I am really interested in trying brunch at California Grill but the priced tag seems a bit high. For those who have had brunch here, what was your experience and would you recommend it to others?

Some of the guys from the DISUnplugged had the brunch there back in March and they did a review on the show. You can forward to the 52:50 mark where they start talking about their experience. :)

Thanks Jackie!

P.S. I love the podcast. It makes my commute a lot more enjoyable!!

Don't forget it includes unlimited mimosas now. Also you get a full three course meal with the appetisers being an sell-service buffet. The only extra costs are Bloody Mary or other cocktails.
Dinner at CG would be a similar price per person.

This is one of the reasons we are upgrading to the DXDP
I *really* want to have brunch here!
(also using the dp means I only think about the cost of the meals AS I am paying for the holiday, not WHILE I am on holiday)

I've read on other threads that you can order a second entree for no additional charge. Can anyone confirm this?
Hi friend :wave2: I think you just have seen this thread already but somewhere in page 3 or 4, there is confirmation that you can order two entrees from another review. http://www.disboards.com/threads/brunch-at-the-top-cali-grill.3515731/

I think I have seen at least one review that said they have ordered another entree. Another reviewer I have seen said she got the steak and had lobster on the side. I think this is the ADR I am most looking forward to (in terms of adult experience) :Pinkbounc

Hey there!! Thanks, yes that thread is what got me hooked on this ADR. And like you, without a doubt my most anticipated meal of our trip. All the entrees look great so I know I will have trouble deciding on just one. It's awesome that we can try more than one!

Are you going in the 11th or 18th? I remember your trip starts on the 10th...
I doubt I will have room for a second entree but really looking forward to stealing a little from DH's plate just to try! :p

Looking forward to this. But a slight hijack here. From what I understand the cost includes free valet. Normally when you valet (for $$) you can leave a car all day. Is this still true for the brunch parking or, I'm guessing, they won't know either way.

Did the brunch at Narcoossee's at $69 a pop (also used TIW) and thought that was AMAZING and well worth it. Unlimited mimosas here and unlimited entrees. You can order as much as you like and mix it up. For example: DH wanted the steak & eggs but hold the eggs and please add a side of lobster from the eggs benedict lobster. No problem. If you don't do CG, consider this one. It was a total winner.

We went this past Easter Sunday for the CG brunch and it was worth every penny. The Lobster Benedict was to die for. Sushi bar and other brunch line items were fabulous.

Bloody Mary bar was great - got a sip from DW - and CG absolutely knows how to make a perfect Manhattan. And yes, go hungry. You won't leave that way.

Enjoy!

it seems like they are modeling this brunch after the high end (Palo etc) brunches on the cruise line. high end buffet appetizers, cooked to order entrees, all you care to enjoy of all of it. I am jealous of everyone who gets to do it. It doesn't work for my next trip. Boooooo.

Locally we have a few brunches that are priced around $70-$80. Sure they have incredible food but simply put, I can not eat $80 worth of food for brunch.

I was also going to say that the price is not insanely out of line with what would be charged for this kind of brunch locally.

DH and I did it and it was definitely worth it to us. The food was great. The valet and the mimosas were nice, and then using our receipt to come back and watch Wishes later that night was the cherry on top. So in considering all of that, the price didn't seem way out of line.

It is 2 "coupons" and it is an experience. Yes, You can eat until You explode but the ambiance is wonderfull and the service top notch. The food is good, the best sushis on Disney. The eggs are not their specialty. My yolk were hard... The Buffet section Was definitivly my favorite part. It Was our last day in Disney. If I Will return, I Will choose to Go in the first day to take the Time and... Leftovers! You can bring with You the breads and what You don't eat of your entree or Go with the entire dessert Plate with You.
