DD and I have a chance to be extras at the taping of the parade at WDW on 12/3. This isn't just sitting on main street. We would get to be right in front of the stage at the taping of the various performers. They like to use extras because they can control the mix of the crowd and what they are wearing. Unfortunately, DD just informed me that she has to take the SAT that day. Yuck! I really wanted to do this.

When I was a CP I got to be at a taping for a disney special that aired on abc. It was at Epcot at 6am. I got to be in the front row at the Baha Men concert. Let me tell you it was awful. I had to listen to Who Let the Dogs Out 10 times in a row while jumping, dancing, and pretending to have a good time.

It is being cast through DD's agent. I'll have to see if they would let me go without her!

Maybe it's just me, but I think the SAT is more important. What if she doesn't do as well as she would like this time and needs to take it another time? I mean this is just being an extra in the Christmas parade, I don't think it would lead to some big role. The SAT is about her future.

Yes, but I recall, way back in the olden days of 1989 when I took the SAT , there were a TON of dates one could chose from. Maybe she can just switch days?

You are correct, although she has already taken the SAT three times. DD tends to be a perfectionist. She will take the test as many times as she possibly can unless she gets a perfect score.

You are also right in that it isn't going to lead to anything. I just thought it would be fun. She really likes people like Raven, etc. and I thought it would be neat if she got to see them up close. Oh, well...

My DS has done the same thing....he took the tests last year ("just to see what it was about") and is taking them again this year. It has paid off, however, to try again! He is getting some really high scores the second time so, even with the fees, we think it will be good for him down the road!
