Wouldn't the opportunity to use AP or Resident codes online make sense?

I have to imagine this has been pondered here before. But, it seems like WDW (with it's newer, fancier online booking interface) could permit the use of codes when booking online.

Recently, the hold times at CRO have been absolutely ridiculous. It sure would be easier if we could book online and still receive the rates WDW is offering.

Pair this with the fact that I just booked (using the Florida Resident Code) online at Royal Pacific.

It would just be so much easier for guests and it would reduce the call volume. Why not do it?

I've often wondered the same thing. I figured when they made the new website with the passholder section, this would be added. I guess not. It does seem like it would make more sense.

I would like it and use it. I book all my other hotel stays online and most sites have a section where you can put in codes, AAA, etc. I would think it would save Disney money in payroll if they allowed people to make reservations and PSs online.

Could the computer system handle all of us trying to access it to make an adjustment to our room only reservation to reflect the AP discount that was just released 30 seconds ago? Or the people who hold off on making a reservation also trying to get on the site. Could you possibly get in all your request and credit info before the room was gone?

Have you every tried to buy concert tickets online as they went on sale? Not always a fun experience. If you are a one finger typer like me it takes time to get my info in the right spots and it shows me that my time has expired so I start over and now I'm 20 rows further away then what I was 30 seconds ago.

I could see this being as tough to do online as it is on the phone at 7 am....Just too many of us DISers knowing how to save a few dollars so we can stay longer or go more often.

Any others care to comment?

Well, I personally would like to know how you find out AP discounts were released less than 30 seconds before to already be on the phone booking it! Seriously... is there a secret I don't know?

ANother thought...

Maybe if they released codes more often but for a smaller amount of time then there would not be so many people calling.

example..On Jan 1 release codes for March 1-15
and then on Jan 15 release codes for March 16-31

they could release them two months in advance of when they are good for and they should have a good idea of how many rooms are already booked and how many they can give a discount too.

Ok time for bed before I start thinking way too far into this.

There is usually a rumor around eithere the day before they are released or Mary from Mousesavers will post on her site if she knows they are coming.

I knew for my last trip what day they were rumored to be released and sure enough they were. Some CM's will give you a little hint and enough of us have those hints that we share and get a good idea.
Ask around and alot of people will tell you they heard they were going to be released before they called.

They don't want them on the website - do you know how many people book at fullprice on that website? Most people who attend WDW have no clue there are good discounts available. If they were on the website - they would be much harder to get due to the wider knowledge and people trying to get them.....keep them secret - except to a few of us!!! HA!
