Wouldn't it be great if.....

I may be a bit dense here, but what is the benefit of double booking? Is double booking having TWO reservations for the same day/time? If so, although I can see how it would add some flexibility, I think someone would have to be totally obsessed to do that. Oh wait, we are all spending our free time on a Disney message board, so I guess that is all of us. :rotfl:

I was GLAD that they changed it to 90 days. At 180 days out, although I am thinking about my trip (hence my constant visits to this site), I am not ready to start making dinner plans, as the dining plans ultimately decide how I am going to spend each day. At 90 days, with the trip on the horizon, I can think that through with more clarity. Plus, although I am obsessing 180 days out, my family definitely isn't, so it is hard to get them to take me seriously when I say, "So, where do you want to eat on the third night of our trip?"

To me, anything is good as long as it is fair. If everyone has to call at 90 days, what's the big deal. It is really only a big deal if I forget and then I find myself trying to make a reservation with 30 days to go. THAT is a pain. I just did that for my parents a few weeks back, and they were stuck with bad time slots, and they missed out on a few places where they wanted to eat.

Raising my hand to admit that I'm obsessive (but look at my screen name)!!:goodvibes I used to ALWAYS double book our ADR's until they just changed it...I hate only being able to make 1 per slot. I'm with others who've said that even 30 days would be good. (Honestly I wish you didn't have to do them AT ALL and could just say I want to eat here tonight!) I HATED the 180 day thing. Do some of you REALLY know when & where you want to be in 180 days? Really?? What purpose does that possibly serve? I don't know what I want for dinner TONIGHT let alone on August 19!!

I used to make a ressie say at Mama Melrose or Hollywood & Vine for 2 diff. nites for the Fantasmic pkg. (but now you don't know when that will be so far out either) and I would make a ressie at say both Boma & Jiko (not knowing WHICH one I wanted yet) and I would maybe make a couple in Epcot somewhere. We like to say "we feel like Chinese tonight" or "I'm craving Mexican". But I ALWAYS called & cancelled whatever we didn't want as soon as we decided. We NEVER were just "no shows". I also liked to hear the weather forecast before deciding which night to do Fantasmic. Some days are just SURE to be rained out while others have less of a chance. I'd much, much rather go when the chance of rain is 20% VS 60%!!

We eat late (8:00ish) and when I was making plans for our trip over Memorial Day weekend I was FLOORED to find out that most of the parks still close at 7:00 over that weekend. The park hours are definitely another thing to consider. You HAVE to have those if you eat later. We ended up making ressies at 8:00 in DTD on 2 diff. nights because we figured at least they should be open past 7:00!!!:rolleyes1

I'd rather see a price break any day. I'm not a fan of anyone having a jump on anyone else even if it is me. Same with fastpasses, I like that everyone has the same opportunity as anyone else in the park to get fastpasses, regardless of where you stay or what kind of ticket you have.

At the risk of sounding stupid.....what is the 90 + 10 thing? I know they changed the policy, but what exactly is it now? We are checking in on July 25 and want ADRs for July 28. When can I make the ADR?

Same here; we are going right after Thanksgiving and I'm going batty trying to decide when to buy MVMCP tickets for! I've read they go on sale May 1st so I'm leaning toward Tuesday Dec. 1st, but not knowing what EMH are makes it hard for me to pull the trigger. OTOH, if I wait until park & EMH are published, what if MVMCP is sold out!!!! :scared1: That would be worse!

We went to the party the Thursday before Thanksgiving this past year and I didn't get my tickets until like 2 weeks before we left if that. Our day there was an EMH morning at MK, but the crowds were low when we got there at around 5:00. You will be fine to wait. Most people will already be on their way home that Sunday or Monday after the holiday.

OH I would love to go back to 180 days!!

My 90 day mark is coming up (tomorrow OR Monday...it depends if I add an extra day to the front of my trip) & I'm already sweating about the phone call!!

DD14 wants me to take a 1/2 day off work on Monday just so I can be home and call at 7am. She's worried that if I wait until I get home at 4pm (I'm a teacher, so no way can I call from work) that all our restaurants will be full!:headache:

Yes! The change back to 180 days would be awesome! I'm sick worring about if my DD will get her birtday ressies at CRT, Princess tea part, and BBB on July 29th. We don't check in until the 28th, so we don't get the full +10 advantage - I'm so worried!:scared:

If WDW resort and DVC guests get 90+10, and off site get 90 days, the odds now are really exactly the same that you'll get your desired ADRs now as they were when it was 180+10 and 180.
