wouldn't it be great if......

How would you feel about more concierge rooms?

  • yes, I would love it !!!

  • no, I would hate it, it wouldn't be as special.

  • I don't care either way since I'll probably never use it.

I don't see that happening. It would be a legal issue. I agree with Chuck.

I think allowing anyone staying at AKV (Jambo or Kidani) to take the safaris would be a nice touch!

.... The only reason I'm didn't try to book it in January is because I knew at 7 months that I wanted to switch to BCV's for the convenience of the marathon. ....

Are you running the marathon or just a spectator? If you are running, BCV is not so convenient. You still have to take a bus to the start - there isn't any way to walk to the start.

I was in conceirge last month and they would need alot more room and there's not room to expand the current location. The lounge was always crowded, there were times when we could not find a table. In the evening, food was gone as soon as it was brought out. Don't forget it wasn't just the 5 DVC rooms but also the AKL conceirge rooms. Maybe they could build a separate DVC lounge.

We did have 1 night in a pool view and 3 in a savannah view (we moved the second day). It was very hard to see any animals from the pool view.

I'm with Shelly, but I voted "C" since the first two choices relate to one's love or desire of concierge, which I do not have either. I am sure it is nice, but I don't want someone turning down my linens or putting chocolates on my pillows, or snacks in the lobby when I have my own snacks in the room. I'm not even keen on 4th day housekeeping (UNLESS we are low on toilet paper!!)

All that complimentary stuff costs extra. Just not my cup of tea.

So this plan would limit my "regular Joe" selection options, which I do not like.

;)

I am a spectator, my Dh is running the half. It was the perfect excuse to stay there, close to everything. Plus we get to use SAG on our last day since our passes expire the day before.

But Jambo House, that the OP asked about, is already declared and fully sold.
From a technical, legal and points standpoint it's one resort. They could adjust using the new section if they so chose. Also, while already declared, it's not all sold from what I'm hearing plus they will keep a certain percent of points anyway though maybe not enough to accommodate large points shifts unless they did compensate in the new building. As I noted, I don't expect they will change it and there are likely other reasons they won't or can't, but they could if they wanted. In retrospect I think it's interesting they did offer the option due to the relatively few rooms in question and the obvious demand and predictable conflict that this option would entail. They've already had some experience with limited unit options previously, though not quite to this extent, that I would think they'd want to stay away from something so limited. I wonder if it was a restriction put on DVC to get the rooms necessary for the conversion? Kind of a take it or leave it package deal.
