Wouldn't FOTL access be a nice perk?

We just returned from a 9-night trip to BWV, VB and the HRH. I have to admit that the express access given to hotel guests at HRH has got to be the absolute best perk for staying onsite offered by either Disney or Universal. It really made for a relaxing vacation. We were able to visit many of the attractions at both parks in one day and got some considerable lounging and relaxation times at the resort. As I was sitting by the pool one afternoon after having spent only 4 hours in the parks, I started thinking FOTL access would be a great perk for DVC members staying onsite. All Disney would have to do is allow members to show their room keys for entry in to the Fast Pass lanes. The machines could be times to spew out a few less tickets. DVC salespeople could say that the perk is offered to allow DVC members to truly enjoy their time "home" w/o rushing from attraction to attraction. Frankly, after experiencing this perk at Universal I'm not sure I'll ever use my points again to stay onsite at Disney. I may just keep them for HH and VB and just stay Universal with side-trip to a WDW park.

It would certainly be nice but there are some problems. For one, it would anger other on site guests (and people staying off site) who don't receive this perk. Two, the reason Disney's fastpass works is that they calaculated the right # of tickets to give out. FOTL could throw this out of proportion. And finally, i don't think Disney would want guests who aren't dvc to feel inferior(especially on site guests). But it could work.........

It would be nice, but highly unlikely. Disney doesn't seem to want to do anything special for us when it comes to the parks. I would rather have a discount on passes, similiar to FL resident. We don't go during peak times, so even a seasonal pass like FL residents have would be great. I would even be happy with extending the 10% off UMP to all passes. Anything.....

You're not the only one that may be venturing offsite to other parks. I never thought we would visit the other non-Disney parks this soon (I really thought it would be years from now when our daughter was older); but with the loss of EE, we are going to revise (Gasp!) our WDW/OKW vacation by cutting it short and try a few days at HRH to sample the Front of the Line privilege.

I have to honestly say that we would have never considered doing this for our April trip if EE (mostly) and E nights were still the standard fare.

And you know the old adage, "once the customer leaves the store, it's hard to sell them any merchandise".

But I guess that is the great thing about DVC, you don't have to use the points to stay at WDW, and even if you do stay onsite, you don't have to go to their parks, shops, and restaurants!! (are you reading this Big Brother??)
