cut your DLR trip from 3 to 2 days in order to go to seaworld? (I have a DD who'll just be 2).

Thanks!

No.
Unless your DD is infatuated with a particular type of animal that you can see up close and personal at SW. I feel you need three days at DL/DCA to really see and do all that you want. Have a great trip.:)

No ... I don't care for sea world, and I wouldn't want to leave DL to drive more in a 3 day span.... I would have to drive 5-6 hours to get there already :scared1:

I agree unless you love the marine life at sea world i wouldnt leave disney to go there!

I love, love, love SeaWorld and I vote no. Unless you go to Disneyland often. Three days is not enough time in my humble opinion so there is no way two would do. Plus I think Disneyland has more to offer a two year old.

Now if you had 4 days for Disneyland I would say yes. :)

In any case have a great trip.

Kay

I also vote no. I would keep the 3 days at DL. I might (and have) add a couple of days on the beginning of the trip and go to San Diego for Sea World, Legoland and the zoo. I have also done day trips from Anaheim to San Diego and back but I don't like to. Once I'm in Anaheim, I like to stay there. And I don't plan other stops after Disneyland. It's too much of a letdown because nothing compares to DL. If we're doing anything else on the trip, the last thing is always Disneyland.

No, we don't add "other" activities until we are going to DL for more than 4 days. :) And we have APs and you can see by my siggie that we go pretty regularly.

She is too young to have fond memories like she would at age 5 or 10. It is a 3.5 to 4 hour drive on your short vacation. We are not talking about hopping on the 460 bus and spending 30 minutes round trip on the bus and walking a couple blocks round trip to Knotts. Why not do the kiddie stuff early then stroll through the park and relax and have fun. If it was a long trip where you could drive down and do the park then rest over night but really it is hard for me to go down there any more because of the long drive.

Yes - bc I can get enuf DL in 2 days to be happy & IMO DL is harder on kids than SeaWorld. SW, the sit in a stroller & watch things....maybe feed a dolphin. But DL is more stimulation, longer lines & rides that are missed bc they're too small or characters that are too scary.

I know all kids are different, I just know mine enjoyed the "low-keyness" SW provided. :)

Looks like I'm the anomaly!!! I'd rather my kids had fun memories of a big whale splashing water on them for a tiny bit....then forget DL!!! To forget DL seems blasphemous! LOL! Laurie is correct tho - this is not a fast drive. It took us 3 hrs from Newport Beach.

Definitely not in my opinion. We were in SD last summer and went to SW with our DDs 6 and 9...we were really unimpressed. The kids liked it but none of us loved it and it didn't even begin to compare to DL and DCA. Plus, like the pp's mentioned, it's a long drive.

No way...mainly based on the drive to/from. But then again, I didn't much enjoy Sea World as a kid, and I definitely prefer Disneyland now. I'll go with what other posters have said; if your daughter really, really wants to go look at the sea creatures, then by all means, take her to see them.

SeaWorld is a great place that I have been going to for many years and possibly as a kid. It has many kid activities such as the new Sesame Street area and the playground called Shamu Harbour. There are sometimes meet and greets and happy things like seeing animals, sky tower, and petting a dolphin.

I would recommend the place for kids but only if you have 4 hours to drive which may not be good with kids and I have had nights where I barely got home from being exhausted from being in the park.

Also with kids under 5 you can give them a shopping cart ride and they would be happy. They will appreciate most things they give you but it is mainly for the parents. They will be happy at Camp Snoopy, Shamu Harbor, Fantasyland or Legoland.

I too vote no. If you were on a longer trip, sure. Otherwise, too much driving (and not enough Disney) in my opinion! I've been there and would go again, but only if I had at least 3 days at DLR.

Definately no. She is going on 2? She would probably most like the aquarium but that's not worth giving up a whole day at Disneyland.

i also vote no. the last time we were at SW was for my oldest son's 3rd birthday. it was february and INSANELY HOT. although i really LOVE seeing the marine animals, it was very, very uncomfortable.

also, small kids get really frightened by the big splashes during the shamu show. we went to the one in ohio in '95 because my dd who was 3 at the time was completely obsessed with killer whales. stood in line for an hour and a half to get the best seats in the stadium, and what does she do?.....the first splash from the whale and she completely panics and dives under the bench we're sitting on!! gets a huge scratch on her back from the metal bench, and is scared to death for the rest of the show.

when we took ds to SW for his 3rd b-day, we sat farther back, but he still completely freaked out and started crying when we got splashed by shamu. on both visits, my kids were not the only small kids who were screaming after the first big splash, either. just to give some perspective, my same son, at the same age, was more than happy to ride things like POTC, haunted mansion, and even matterhorn at DL.

my recollection of SW is that it feels like there is NO shade ANYWHERE.

also, your dd is really too little to enjoy the kid's play area at SW, because so many parents let their kids run totally wild and she'd likely get run into and even knocked down by bigger kids whose parents aren't paying attention to what they're doing.

DL is way more enjoyable than SW, even for small kids. at least, that has been my experience (4 kids, ages 4-17).
