My children have never worn costumes to
Disneyland, but we will be going to WDW this year and I am going to make the suggestion to them. I think the kids look so cute dressed up and it makes them easier to spot.
Just a couple ideas:
1. If you will be travelling with another adult, have them hold a spot for you (for parades, fireworks, Fantasmic, etc.) and take that 45 minutes before the show to do the rides nearby. We were able to walk on to Pirates, the Haunted House, Winnie the Pooh and Splash Mountain with no wait all before Fantasmic. It was great.
2. Do Disneyland on your first day. The crowds will be worst here. Leave CA Disney for a later day as the park is more spread out and seems less crowded (even if it isn't).
3. ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney is a blast for older kids (climbing wall and games). We love to eat dinner there and let the older kids play while we rest our feet.
4. If you are not from Southern California, make sure to spend some time at the beach, not only to swim, but many have great jogging trails, shopping promenades and even rides.
5. There is a store called "Libby Lu" in Downtown Disney where little girls can get their hair and makeup done. If your daughter likes makeup (as mine does), she will love it.
Have a wonderful trip!
