Would you wear a mask at WDW for incentives?

And I would certainly respect their requirements; no hard feelings, but I would never go if masks were required.
And that's you respecting the rules that private business sets out. It's the people that complain, and feel their rights are being violated when being asked to do something like this that irk me. Stand in the way of people doing what is asked / needed, because they no longer have the "right or freedom" to go to these private establishments.

:scratchin I find that thinking very odd - certain things are rights and certain things are privileges. Until masks are officially mandated, people have the right not to wear them. BUT private businesses, with a few type-specific exceptions, don't have to provide service and for damn sure they don't have to provide service to people who violate their rules. I guess some people figure Disney is such a much-loved tradition that it's actually a public-service of sorts? :confused3

I think many people mistake lot of things that are actually privileges, for what they believe to be rights.

People have the right to complain about mask requirements if it irks them, just like you are now complaining about people who complain about mask requirements. Free speech, and all.

People tend to get angry when something they like is taken away. In this case, what's being taken away is mask-free access to Disney World. It is highly unlikely that the people on these boards who complain about it are planning to disobey the rules in the park- to the contrary, they tend to say they just won't go at all. Which is the correct solution for them. It still makes them angry, because they're missing out on something they love, because of a mask rule they disagree with and/or would find physically intolerable in that environment.

Disney doesn’t owe anyone anything for wearing a mask! Silly to even suggest such a thing. If mandatory I’d wear mine- even if not mandatory I would wear like I do now.

Disney doesn’t need to pixie dust, give free food or fastpasses to people. Tired of people thinking Disney owes them free pixie dust!

I’ll echo what many have said here regarding temps and all. Breathing that hot air sends me into a panic attack. All the places around here had in their mandates that we didn’t have to wear one if our mental or physical health would be otherwise compromised with a mask. I’d wear one for as long as I could tolerate it (which was 10-15 minutes) and then have to pull it down and collect myself. I was never able to put it back on after the initial reaction.

If that was something I could take to GS about and get a DAS waiver, I’d try, but my guess is I just can’t go to Disney anytime while they are required.

Are you a mod in training or mod wannabe? 😂
Lmao neither. I’m new around here, had our first trip planned with the kids for April. Found the site/boards/podcasts while planning. Needless to say, I came in (got sucked in?) at a very interesting time for Disney and the world. I don’t say much. I’m quite glad I found this actually, at this time. As it’s been an interesting platform to see and hear people’s views on things and what people are actually experiencing as opposed to just the “news”. However, why ppl need to post the same view as as the ten ppl before them and refuse to respect the opposite view can get grading. Recently, the term “high horse” keeps coming to mind. (Maybe not specifically here on this board...or is this a thread? Haha, told you I was new)
I can be a sickening positive person and at times I feel the need to spread the disease.

Florida is too hot and humid. Trying to breathe through a mask under those conditions just sucks all the fun out of it. I'll wait til there's a vaccine and go during the winter.

Having to keep bugging my kid to keep his mask on (the other is too young and it would be unsafe to wear a mask), doesn’t sound like much of a vacation. And he would probably get more germs in his mucus membranes from fiddling with it than without it.

Same. I have kept a mask with me but had not worn it yet suspecting this, but today I had my first mask induced panic attack. And I had it on for 5 min while I was picking up glasses at the eye dr. I’m going to need a larger Xanax bottle if I have to wear it for any length of time at all. My heart starts racing just thinking of wearing it again.

I have no problem with people chatting about it their displeasure at wearing masks on a random message board, it's those who block entrances to hospitals, murder security staff at store for being asked to stay home or wear a mask when entering a store. If a private business requires a mask to enter the store, you are free not to shop there but the store or Disney is not violating any rights or freedoms by requiring you do so while in their shop or park.

No idea why it would be grating or high horse to state the opinion I would find it too uncomfortable to go to WDW, or any type of theme park for that matter, wearing a mask? When summer weather arrives I won't want to do much of anything active while wearing a mask, something that has absolutely nothing to do with entitlement, privilege or rights and solely revolves around physical comfort.

Are discussions now limited to X number of people who share the same or similar opinions on a topic, at which point only others with another view may respond?

There are three types of people...

1) Those who would go to Disney regardless of a mask requirement.
2) Those who would only go to Disney if masks aren't required.
3) Those who would go to Disney if masks are required but would need an "incentive" to do so (whether it's "cute" masks, more FP or whatever).

I think most (90%+?) will fall in to the first two categories. I definitely fall in to #2. Disney is well within it's right to require masks. Consumers are well within their right to not go for whatever reason.

This may not be what they meant, but I feel the OP is a "Please love Disney as much as I do, what would it take for you to go, I really want to make you happy and be willing to go." It seems strange to me. If people don't want to go, why try to make them?
