Would you want Jordan to be added to the World Showcase?

Actually I posted in another thread that they should add Ukraine. We do not have any Eastern European countries, and putting Ukraine there would also be a nod to solidarity with them.
But it would be deemed political just like Israel unfortunately (I want both added plus Jordan and Greece).

Mexico is in North America too btw
As long as they kept the Maple Popcorn somewhere, I would be okay if Canada was removed. I am even a Canadian citizen. There is nothing all that remarkable with the Canada pavilion at Epcot. I remember when Le Cellier was an impossible ADR, but that all changed many years ago. The movie in Circle Vision, while updated still seems outdated. The gardens seem like a waste of space. I don't understand why they don't install a true IMAX theater in the Canada pavilion. Not the same IMAX you see at the movies, but a true IMAX like museums show movies on. Like the one I remember seeing a movie on at the Cinesphere at Ontario Place in my youth. They are a very different experience from an IMAX in AMC or Regal Cinema.

I think I would rather see an Australian pavilion in Epcot instead.
I am good with the countries as they are - as in not need to remove any - there is always room for something more interesting to be added in those that exist today.

Morocco’s culture is North African while Jordan’s is Southern Levantine. It’s not the same. It’s like saying South Africa is almost the same as the Ivory Coast. They have some major differences.

Just FYI, the proper name is Cote d’Ivoire. I know that you find distinctions important and would want to use the name that the people of country request be used. Not snark, I honestly thought you’d care.

Thanks. I would have put the French name but I didn’t know if some on the board wouldn’t know what country that was.

Ohhh, it would be lovely if there was some way to have a high end restaurant with delicious fresh offerings from all over the Middle East. So much of the food from this part of the world is vegan and vegetarian, it would be a natural way to adapt to new demands and a great way to bring farm-to market into the mix for those of that mind. There is dairy free chocolate and all other sorts of wonderful things that would accommodate so many dietary issues, it would be splendid.

In my head I'm imagining something like high end vibe of The Wicked Spoon in Vegas, only not a buffet per se', maybe you can purchase as you go by the serving like at an ice cream place and chose as you walk through like at Chipotle... only then sit at luxurious seats which are assigned like at Chef Mickey... makes me happy to daydream about it :)
How would you want the restaurant to look like setting wise? A dining room in Jasmine’s palace, something like the Jordan River idea I suggested before, or something completely unique?

Probably true. Though, it isn't really their "French name" it is their name (the name they want to known as, their official name in the UN. etc.) Sadly, I know far too much about the politics of country names.

But, it could be worse, you could have used Zaire as an example :)

Also (since Instanbul was mentioned earlier), as of last week, it isn't Turkey anymore either, it's Türkiye (again, I know way too much about these things)

efinitely a high end palace, as a WDW guest if I'm in a fantasy version of a place I would want to see the luxurious side represented instead of the earthy side that's so overdone.
Definitely a high end palace like vibe, as a WDW guest paying so much money I feel if I'm in a fantasy version of a place I want the luxurious side represented instead of the earthy side.

Maybe a place that blends all sorts of elements from different areas in the region like in It's a Small World but just for the Mediterranean. Maybe a storyboard set up like Aladdin's flight where the guest can glance into the different lovely places they fly over, near or into. Palaces with marble or marble looking elements, water elements would be nice but maybe more like a bright blue reflecting pool than a muddy river. They did the muddy vibe at the AK pool and it just makes it look dingy, I know they were going for watering hole but I don't want to swim in a watering hole for those prices... so it might be nice as a theme to the side but not the main one where I want luxury :)

Thanks! We land in Casablanca and then go to Volubilis, which is the largest Roman ruins in Africa. We're also going to Fes, Marakkesh, and the desert. We're going to glamp one night in the desert.
How does one glamp in the desert? Intrigued, wIll you have AC for day and heat at night because that sounds lovely?

Thoughts? 🤔🧞‍♂️🧞‍♀️🇯🇴
No.

My first choice would be Greece, something very different, different food, culture, music and they could do the whole blue/white village architecture. Hercules attraction.

You need THREE things to fit into Epcot WS:
1) Unique Architecture (this alone eliminates many outdoorsy countries)
2) Good food, preferably not like any that is already there
3) New music, dance and visually culture difference from existing

That all said - I don't think Disney will ever add any more countries. They haven't added a new one since 1988 - THIRTY FOUR YEARS. Their answer is the food kiosks etc during all the festivals. First thing they should do is build attractions for all the existing countries (and movies don't count). And they need to fix the chaos of FutureWorld, no their current bandaid isn't going to cut it.

Yup, names can change. After all, Istanbul was Constantinople.... 😉

Sounds like a great trip! We lived in Casa but never made it to Fez. The souk in Marrakkesh and Volubilis were amazing!

I was told there would be A/C. I can handle heat similar to that at home (Texas) as long as my lodging has A/C and I have plenty safe room temp water to drink. It will be our first trip without kids that's longer than 2 nights since our first child was born. We're also celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary even though our wedding was in the fall.

I wonder what color scheme would be best in a place like this? Maybe all the pretty blues of the Mediterranean, even the dishes could be like a frosted blue glass similar to the water, white to match waves, an aquarium with fish from the region and flowers from there... lovely

Pretty but Jordan is not on the Mediterranean. It is essentially landlocked (teeny bit hits the Red Sea).

But it does have the Jordan River and Gulf of Aqaba as well (as seen in Aladdin). But it is in the Southern Levantine region which does have Mediterranean influences culture wise.
