Would you try to avoid the 50th celebration?

I don’t expect Epcot to stay opening at 11am in fall to be honest. Rat is opening, and Disney is selling corporate viewing packages for Harmonious for October. Epcot will be busy. WS will still likely open at 11 but I think FW will go back to opening at the regular time, if only to spread people out.

Rise has virtual queue due to the reliability issues, mainly. I think Rat will be regular standby like MMRR and Millennium Falcon did when they opened, cause it’s just a cloned version of an existing ride. Would be shocked if they went to VQ for that.

Agreed, It does seem like they would need to open EP earlier. But in general, it seems like park hours should open up with the higher anticipated crowds. I think I saw that MK was open until 1am recently for spring break. Which was a surprise, maybe I read it wrong.

The staggered opening times and shorter hrs were obviously a cost savings measure (i.e. less buses operating, less CM hrs, rides running less hrs, etc.) with lower volume of guests. More attractions are filling all rows such as BTM, 7D... that, along with expanded hours will help some.

Rat is supposed to be similar to MMRR, and I'm sort of surprised at how quickly the wait times have gone down on MMRR. It seems like it's consistently one of the lowest wait times at HS other than TSM. Of course it helps to have a few other newer attractions at HS to divert attn (EP will not have that).

I know that there are mixed feelings on MMRR, but we enjoyed it. Think we went on it 4-5x per day at HS last Sept. Have not been to Paris DL to experience Rat, nor heard from others who have. I'd say I'm most excited about Guardians, then Rat, then Tron.

So looking forward to a fall trip. I hope Party for the Senses is back when we visit.

We are going back the end of October.
While I expect it to be busy, I don't expect it to be anywhere near Oct 1.
You couldn't pay me to be there Oct. 1.
Hoping things are closer to normal by then.

They just announced the after hours Boo Bash to replace MNSSHPs Aug 10-halloween, with 7pm starts (vs. the 4pms before). No word yet on fireworks or pricing.

I could be making this up, but I thought I saw there were concerts going on for the Flower Garden? But that also seems off since we don't even have Beauty and the Beast, Nemo, etc. back yet. I get it that Lion King is almost back... but these mainstay musicals probably require alterations so that performers are distanced, whereas the concert performers aren't direct employees and probably adequately distanced anyhow?

There were. We saw a local band play one day and then 2 Mariachi bands play (I'm guessing they were WDW based, but not sure).
They played more in the afternoon rather than evening as in past years.

Hopefully that's an indicator that there will be Eat to the Beats Concerts and not just Voices of Liberty, Mariachi, Jammitors.

Forgot that we also saw Voices of Liberty and Jammitors on their stages.

I think Disney is going to be busy as well as other popular travel destinations (lots of pent up travel demand after the pandemic). All that said a 50th anniversary celebration wouldn't in any way deter me or make me want to go.

We're going in March next year (which is during the 50th) despite crowds, etc. (just want to go to Disney and like the weather than time of year - doing some non Disney stuff too). We were at Disney for the 25th - don't remember that being any different than other visits, except for the MK castle looking pretty cheesy decked out like a birthday cake lol.

Just bring a lot of patience, expect crowds and plan for those, and have a great time. We enjoy Disney any time, but are Disney diehards.

We go a lot too, so if this visit doesn't meet all our expectations, there is always another one. I think when to go for the experience you are looking for (and possibly delaying) might be more important for those who do fewer trips. We, for example, have a rare trip to Paris and Belfast planned (probably the only one we will ever do) that got canceled due to COVID-19 in 2020 and we are delaying that (not going in 2021 or 2022) and playing it by ear for 2023. We want to make sure a rare expensive international trip for us is going to be the experience we want. For Disney we aren't so worried. We've been there, done that, bought the T shirt, know we will have fun, and know we will have other opportunities to do things that might not be open yet.

Us too! We usually plan our trips around these concerts, so we can watch as many as possible!
I do too. Usually plan around Sugar Ray who comes the ,last week of September. 2019 I was lucky enough to catch 98 Degrees.

I booked for the 5th. I don't want to go over the first 2 days or the weekend. I also don't want to miss is. I was at the MK for the 15th, 25th and not missing the 50th. Praying I'm alive and well enough for the 75th lol
