Just wondering, if you had a choice between these two resorts, which would you pick and why??

Both would be for 2 bedrooms.............I think I like the location of SL better, but we will be spending some time in the resort, so I wonder if Cypress Palms (NOT Cypress Pointe) is a nicer resort.

Thanks for sharing.

don't knock Cypress on the location - one of the closest offsite timeshare to DD... less than a mile (you couldn't walk to DD from here - the traffic is too bad.

Cypress is doing their best!!!

Not sure that I understand your post, Spiceycat. I wasn't knocking CP for its location. I just thought that SL might be a little better location because of the close proximity to the parks. Is CP just as close??

I really don't know exactly how you would drive to the parks from either of these resorts, but everyone always RAVES on this board about how close SL is to the parks, especially AK.

So Spiceycat, would you choose CP?? Have you stayed at either?? I would be interested in your opinion. Thanks. :D

not yet - both are on my list - but I read the reviews on tug and RCI - Cypress is really trying it best.

Silver Lake main attraction is the closest to WDW.

the hotel plaza (the road where all the DD hotels are) - turn left go down about block turn right and you are at Cypress Pointe. Very close!!!

It is close to the US Post Office for this area.

Yes it is probably close to WDW property than Silver Lakes - but SL is definitely closer to a theme Park - AK.

Cypress Pointe has more restuarants and other stuff that you can actually walk too.

Kissimmee is getting better - so SL is catching up.

both would be fine - but I think I would go with Cypress Pointe.

Spiceycat, I thought you were asking about Cypress Palms. I'm waiting to read the responses because we may be staying there. :moped:

I've stayed at both Silver Lakes and Fairfield at Cypress Palms. Both were VERY nice and we would very happily return to either one. So please take the following lightly.

Silver Lakes had:
--- about 5-8 minutes closer drive to Disney property one way
--- a much, much larger game/arcade room
--- a larger fitness center
--- a larger pool (but only one main pool area)

Fairfield at Cypress Palms had:
--- all good views, no noise (SL has some rooms overlooking Sherberth Rd.)
--- all newer rooms and decor (SL's older rooms - too many mirrors)
--- all rooms very close to one of the two pool areas, convenient
--- better floorplans, 2BRs are more spacious
--- elevators in all buildings
--- reasonable walk to several restaurants on 192

As I said, we enjoyed our vacations at both but somewhat preferred F@CP more. HTH! :flower:

Thank you, Lisa P.. Very good objective list. And I think I would be happy at either also.

I'm going to have to be patient to see what comes available in the next few months. That is the hardest part. lol
