would you think id gone crazy if i said i was. . .

I think because we are a family of 6 we have to have a villa !!
Im not too fussed about the 1 night stay thing as im thinking about it for our last night and really just want to be able to sit and watch Wishes all together as a family!! I have wanted to book a surprise and when I saw Johs pictures it reminded me of teh BLT villas and I just thought it was a fab idea as a way of finishing off the holiday in style !!
Louise x

doesn't the 2 bedroom hold 6 people?

2 people in each bedroom and 2 in the living room?

have you considered a Wishes cruise? i've never done one, but i've heard they're very nice..
I'm not sure I would want to do this in December.
We did it at the end of October for our wedding anniversary and it was freezing. They did provide really huge blankets to snuggle under, and it was one of the highlights of our trip, but with 4 little ones in tow in might be a bit much for them.

Nice idea about the cake. DW organised ours and found that the chefs can pretty much do anything you want on it :thumbsup2

The 2 bedrooms at BLT can sleep upto 9:

2 in the king in the master

4 in 2 queens in the second bedroom

3 in the living room - one queen sleeper sofa and a sleeper chair.

:thumbsup2

I upgraded from Sequoia Lodge at DLP to The Disneyland Hotel. It cost me an extra £300+ and I knew that the kids wouldn't really know the difference...but it was worth every penny.

Go for it!:thumbsup2

I would totally go for it! We booked 1 night at wilderness lodge for our 5 year anniversary and it was fab, we arrived early and were free to use the pool etc and just changed in the lockers at the gym.

It's the kind of crazy thing I would do, so would be fully behind you doing this! Sounds very exciting - especially the cake!!!!!!!

We got a cake for our DS then 3 birthday - it was the best cake EVER. I could have died in the frosting alone.

I would say go for it. You deserve an amazing trip and if this will make it even more special for you do it.

The GF delivers wonderful things to the rooms - the mini castle cakes look amazing as do the slipper desserts etc.

Louise you deserve a magical trip and you will be able to see the electrical water pageant too - my kids still talk about that.

Have u decided on where u will be staying for 1 night? My friend arrives into The Grand Floridan about 7 pm then they have to check out for 11 the next day:lmao: Now that is what i call a bit "Over The Top" but it's there ££££ they can do what they want with it,,Still they think it will be an "Exciting" start to there Xmas Vacation:) Plus they are justifying it by having access to the CL Lounge the next day,But then so would i with what it is costing..

:goodvibes

I have just got off the phone with reservations lovely american guy !! The price they quoted me yesterday was for a 2 bed room not a grand villa !
The actual price for a grand villa is £1100 - but he did stress that we had a view of the castle !!
I am a raving loon because im still trying to work out if it is doable !! or would my dh kill me for paying that much money for 1 night ??
guess ill have to think some more !!!

THAT is a whole loada dosh for just 1 night, have you considered AKL with a savannah view? I know my kids would love that and would want to make the most of stayingin the room ( that I had paid for ;))

I did think that was quite cheap for a Grand Villa Louise. No way woud I part with that kind of money for one night's stay. Th eone thing you have to consider is that your room may not be ready until late afternoon (the Grand Villas obviously take a lot longer to clean than normal rooms - we didn't get into ours until nearly 2 o'clock) and you have to be out by 11. Worst case scenario, you may only have the room for 19 hours - for £1100 - sheer madness if you ask me.

Would a 2-bedroom not be suitable for you? The other thing to consider is to rent DVC points - it was 98 points for the night we stayed. If you could find somebody to rent you that amount of points, that would still work out cheaper than paying and booking through CRO.

WHOA! That is a chunk of change!! BUT if you can part with the money then go for it. Personally, I could think of things I would rather do with the money, but I stress that is only because spending that much on one night would totally affect the rest of the vacation (I think I may have sleep in a box on the highway for the other 13 nights :lmao:).
In the end it is only a room - is you stayed in a 2 bed you'd still get most of the same benefits. What about having a suite at the Contemporary hotel or one of the others on the monorail?? Surely that would work out cheaper. I would even think 2 rooms at the Contemporary would work out cheaper..?
No offence is meant by this, but if you're working out if it is doable then it's obviously something you're stretching for and for 1 night I really don't think it would be worth it, after all how many hours are you actually going to be in the room? Like I say no offence meant, I just wouldn't want you to be disappointed after having spent all that :)
Good luck with your choice!! :thumbsup2

Wow, Louise that's a lot of money for 1 night. I would be worried that the kids wouldn't want to stay in the room and would whine to go out!:rotfl: I would budget per person on a 'treat' and then see what you can reasonably afford. What would make the trip memorable for you as a family? My kids liked The Disneyland Hotel but would have been equally happy in a cheaper one.:confused3 It was me and DH who enjoyed the upgrade.;)

Why not decide on a budget (say £600 at £100 per person) and start a thread with the question - What do I spend this on to make my trip extra-special?:goodvibes

I say, 'GO FOR IT' it'll be a wonderful memory that all of the kids will remember forever. Yes. it's pricey, but sometimes you simply have to do crazy things!!

Louise you could book a DCL trip for that amount - now how could DH refuse you that;);)

I know everyone's saying go for it, but I do think it's borderline insane to spend £500 for one night anywhere.

Even if I was a multi-millionaire I would find it hard to justify. But then if you have the cash and want to do it, why not?

Personally for me that's alot of money and there's plenty of things that I could find to use that for. But again that's things that maybe you wouldn't like as much as me if you see where i'm going with this?
:thumbsup2

If you are thinking about spending that much I would do 2 nights in a 2bed instead as at least you than get at least whole full day.

Completely bonkers.

If you are asking, it surely means you are stretching for it. Your family could spend two days in Discovery cove for that..

The best bit is you don't even get it for a full day - lol

Lots of people are saying go for it, but it isn't their money is it?
