would you think id gone crazy if i said i was. . .

Completely bonkers.

If you are asking, it surely means you are stretching for it. Your family could spend two days in Discovery cove for that..

The best bit is you don't even get it for a full day - lol

Lots of people are saying go for it, but it isn't their money is it?

Same with our flights, about 10 hours each way so 20 hours of pleasure. I could have booked 3 x economy for £1,200 but opted for 3 x business class £3,510. £2,310 extra, completely bonkers but worth every penny to us.
I have no idea of Louise's finances but if the money is there to do it why not? If it remotely puts a strain on finances or they have to cut corners elsewhere then I say no.

£1100, in my opinion, is FAR too much money to spend on a room for one night.
For me also but I know people that gamble and lose that kind of money in minutes, we all spend our money on different luxuries.

I think you are mad to consider that amount of money for 1 night...

If you really want a little piece of luxury then why don't you book a magic kingdom view room at the Contemporary, when we went to Florida in 2008 we stayed 1 night there as we were doing the MNSSHP , when we arrived we got a free upgrade to a MK view room, it was out of this world and you could almost touch the castle, the whole hotel is fab too.

It's all relative I guess.

As for you spending lots of money on your business class flights, I can understand that more because of the comfort level involved. Yes, a Grand Villa would be VERY comfortable (well, you'd expect so at that price ;)), but there are plenty of other luxury options that would cost much less.

As much as I would love to say go for it, I can't. We only go to Florida every two years and save hard for that and £1100 could go towards another holiday. Now if we could have a dream holiday and not think about the pennies, then maybe yes. The trouble is where money's concerned, I'm always Mrs Sensible :headache:

Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll have a fantastic holiday.

Over a thousand pound for one night is a lot, too hard to justify IMHO.

I think a good compromise (and still amazing) like others have suggested is a MK view room at the Contemporary, and get some goodies delivered / a cake etc. Sounds so good im tempting myself with it!!

If I had $1000 to spend on one night in Florida I would change it into $1 notes and spend the night at Hooters. But that's just me :thumbsup2

It's the one night bit that would bother me ~ you'll hardly have checked in than it will be time to check out. If I was going to do it, I would rather book the cheaper option for two nights.

Good luck with your decision. :)

Before you part with the cash, I'd say it's definitely worth looking into renting DVC points. Weekend nights (Fridays and Saturdays) are more expensive, so if you could bear to make it a night other than your last, it would cost 98 points for a Grand Villa at that time of year. At $10-$12 a point, you'd be looking at $980 - $1176. It would be a good idea to get a DVC owner to check availability, though, before you go through the palaver of trying to rent points. With it being just one night and between "big" seasons, you could well be lucky, particularly if you're willing to be flexible about the date. If it really has to be your last night, it would be 146 points and, suddenly, that rate you've been quoted isn't looking too far off the mark.

Hi Guys,
Thought id come back with an update !!

I have been looking into renting DVC points the last couple of days but there is no availabilty to DVC for eitherthe grand villa or the 2 bed villas with mk view. So Im thinking about shelving the idea until next trip anyway!! :lmao:

I did speak to DH about it and he said IF we have the money we should just do it ! See thats why i love him  but atthe moment that is a big IF and im guessing I should probably go for a less extarvagant surprise this time.

Thanks for all your help guys !!
Especially Pegasus whos useful tip has meant that my 12 yr old DS is now asking if its possible to go to Hooters - Thanks m8 !!:)
