. . . Thinking about booking a grand villa at Bay lake towers for our last night ??
I have priced it up and it its just over £500 for the one night but I think it would be the ultimate end to the holiday !!
Am i thinking straight or have i finally lost the plot???

Edit to say £500 is a 2 bed villa the grand villa is double that price !!!

I wouldn't think you had lost the plot at all, as long as you can book it without it having a serious impact on the rest of your trip. Given what it is going to cost, I would also try and ensure that the night you stay there is one where you plan to chill, relax and really enjoy being at the resort. I would love to stay there! :goodvibes

Not something I would do but its your money, do what you like with it.

A year ago I would have said £1,170 return flights in Business class was a complete waste, having experienced it I would say its worth every penny if you have the money.

We spent more than that on a day at Discovery Cove for the dolphin swim.
We also spent close to that for a balloon ride that travelled the grand distance of half a mile and lasted less than an hour.
With the room you would have it all night, fantastic views of the castle, wishes from your own room and a night to remember for you and the family.
I say go for it :thumbsup2

Well i know someone that has The Grand Floridan booked for just 1 night:) They have stayed there many times before but only want to do stay there for 1 night then move on elsewhere on Property,They are doing this at the beginning of there holiday:) They also have CL booked so even though they have to check out for 11 the next day they still have access to the CL lounge till 10pm that night & they fully intend on using the CL Lounge the day they check out:lmao: So would i if it was costing me in the region of £600 for a 1 nights stay.... They think it will be the Ultimate start to there holiday as it is at Christmas but they do not want to stay there over Christmas,,,As they feel it would be WAY TO BUSY with peeps coming in to look at decorations etc LOLOL...

Have Fun

Why a villa? We are having the CR for one night but not a villa because I would see it as a waste that we didn't get to use all the amenities of the room in one night.

No, not crazy at all. :)

I would say have a look around at other final night options too though, but I know you have a few kids, and so a normal hotel room may be too small.

GF CL has castle view rooms, and you'd have the benefit of the lounge, same with the Poly, but obviously it's a different kettle of fish from the GV.

We have MK view BLT book for the last few nights of our trip, and are super excited, so you won't hear me nay saying your idea.

I personally dont like one night stays though, as I feel you are in and out too, quick. So would maybe price up 2 nights in a 1 or 2 bed just for a comparison, too.

I think because we are a family of 6 we have to have a villa !!
Im not too fussed about the 1 night stay thing as im thinking about it for our last night and really just want to be able to sit and watch Wishes all together as a family!! I have wanted to book a surprise and when I saw Johs pictures it reminded me of teh BLT villas and I just thought it was a fab idea as a way of finishing off the holiday in style !!

I say go for it and maybe organise some things to be put in the villa for your arrival?

when you're watching wishes, will you be able to hear the music?
that is, is the music piped in onto the tv?

if not, you won't be able to hear the music, just see the fireworks..

personally, if i were spending a lot of money, i'd reserve one of the MK view concierge suites in the Contemporary Resort rather than staying at BLT..

BLT doesn't seem all that luxuriouis to me....when you walk into the building, it's more of an apartment building than a luxury hotel...

not sure i'm explaining it well...

and the lounge on the top of BLT is private, it's not open to paying guests...it's only open to DVC owners.....unless i'm not understanding correctly and you're actually an owner..

but regarding spending a lot of money on something - go for it....if you want to do it, do it....
i've spent outrageous amounts of money on splurges at disney and almost always enjoyed it.....

Any ideas how I do that ?? Id love to arrange a cake justto say thanks to my wonderful hubby!!

Hmmm concierge at contempory - Ill hope over to have a look atthat now !! Always open for suggestions !!:thumbsup2

have you considered a Wishes cruise? i've never done one, but i've heard they're very nice..

people say it's a lovely way to see wishes...

as for the grand villa - i take back what i said before....i'm sure the villa itself must be really nice...

i'm sure you'll enjoy just staying there without anything else...

so forget what i said about the CR concierge and go ahead and go for the villa!!!! but take a lot of pictures to post in your report!!! :)

Contact the GF cake makers - go to the restaurant boards on here and pick up the cake thread it has all the details on there. I think it is 48 hours notice.

Have fun with your planning

Just a couple of things to think about - with it being DVC check in is not until 4pm and check out is 11am and because of the cleaning schedules they are fairly fixed times.

Also have you checked avalability yet? BLT is really popular at the moment.

May be worth pricing a CL suite out at the Contemporary - some of them sleep 6 and they have large balconys.

Or the MK view 2 bed at BLT might be nice and you may get 2 nights there for the same sort of money - not sure how much of a premium they charge on a cash booking for the GV?

I am sure what ever you book will be fab :)

Check out Cake Man Bri....he does the cakes for the Contemp....he's on the boards and you can see many of his fab creations on the Cake thread
