Would you take 1 or 2 days away from WDW to do Universal??

We started having days for US a few yrs ago.

BUT we quickly learned that we couldn't allow it to be in the beginnig or middle of the trip, b/c as soon as we'd get home we felt as if it wasnt a furfilling WDW vacation.

Also, we have always stayed on site, preferably @ OKW; and we'd arrive , check in and go to US i felt like we were commtting treason!!!

so now we ADD ON a day or 2 for US or IOA....and yes they are genrally targeted towards teens.

IOA: Suess Landing does have some fun things for kids, and jurasic park is a very fun enviroment...

US: Very "Nickelodeonize" so over all, that park is kid friendly

Just don't take time away from Dis to travel to Universal. DH and I tried a day at IOA a few years ago and were so sorry that we'd spent the money at that park rather than adding a day on to Disney. We're just not Universal fans, it just don't compare! If you love thrill rides though, go for it. Otherwise, save yourself some grief and spend those extra days with the mouse!

I would wait until the kids are a little older to enjoy Universal or IOA.

we're going to do a day at the end of our trip. Stay on site to take advantage of FOTL and enjoy their Christmas decorations as well. I know we won't be doing a lot of the coasters....but seems to me there is still some neat stuff the kids will enjoy. Who knows though....I may get more Disney pangs and just stay w/ the mouse!

We go to Disney art least twice a year and at least one of those times we head to Universal and IOA!

Christmas was a great time there with "the Grinch and everyone from Whoville"
Universal/IOA did an awesome job with The Grinch.
