Would you stay onsite if WDW had a pet friendly hotel?

For those who travel with their pet/s

  • I'd stay onsite in a minute if Disney had a pet friendly hotel!

  • I like camping so it wouldn't make a difference to me...I'd stay at FtW regardless.

  • I'd continue to stay offsite because of financial reasons.

  • Other-please elaborate.

This poll is inspired by a thread in the camping section. For those of you who travel with your pet, would you stay onsite if Disney had a pet friendly hotel? I know you can bring your pet to the campground....which we recently did, but we found out that camping is not for us so we'll be returning to staying offsite for our future trips. I'm just curious to see if this affects anyone else. Maybe it is just me and 2 other families:blush: , but I thought this would be an interesting poll.

I do not travel with a pet so I will continue to stay onsite, even without a pet friendly hotel.

We thought about taking our beagle to WDW but after seeing how much will cost us we decided to leave him with our mother-in-law and his other 4 cousins....(HE will have more fun instead of taking him and leaving him at the DOG KENNEL)

We would love it, if they had a pet friendly resort. Personally, I think at least one building, in a resort, in each category, would be great. We are going over Christmas and staying in our RV. We had FL resident annual passes at WDW for 3 years, until we go a pet. Since then the other big theme park on I-4 has been getting all our business, because their resorts are so pet friendly. :) If WDW had a pet friendly resort, we would purchase AP's again, and spend much more time there.

Absolutely! I am in FL, right now, staying with relatives, because Disney doesn't have pet friendly reorts. We are staying 1 hour away. I came to visit for Thanksgiving and then we wanted to do a few day at Disney. We would have rathered leaving here and getting a hotel room. We are going to MVMCP, tonight and it would make it so much easier to be onsite. I have never driven to WDW, before, and I'm kind of nervous about the drive plus I have to pay for parking. I won't put my dog in the kennel. I think I would if they were runs, but they are just crates.

I cannot believe that disney as family friendly as they claim to be will not accept "all" family members. They should correct this... I think eventually they will. When they see that they are losing business to Universal b/c of their pet policy they will likely make a change.... I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Personally I think you are barking up the wrong tree. :rotfl2: Sorry, I couldn't resist. Honestly now, there are far too many people that either have allergies, or are afraid of pets. They wouldn't be able to discriminate against people with large ones vs people with small ones. I love my Samoyed, but she is much better off at home where she is comfortable. I hire a pet sitter to come and play with her, feed her, and make sure she is happy. I'd much rather do that than bother other people with my pet. Plus the added upkeep of a resort the size of Disney would far outweigh the benifits. Who would pay? More than likely everyone who visits WDW, and that's just not fair. IMO Besides they would have to let in those evil cats. :rotfl:

I said other. We have a pet but we still stay onsite. Max can not travel he gets car sick.If he didn't get car sick and Disney had a Pet friendly hotel I would probably still leave Max at home with family. He would not get much attention being alone all day in a strange room. I think he would be happier at home. I would take him with us if I would be planning on staying with him. When we go to Gatlinburg I thought we would take him to a pet friendly cabin with us because I would be with him most of the time. But alas he can not travel far with out getting sick in the car. :sad2:

If they had a separate hotel, fine. But never would I pay to stay in a hotel room where pets were allowed. I don't have any allergies, but let's face it, pets are going to be doing their business on the carpet, sleeping on the bed, etc. No thank you! It's the main reason I will never stay at Universal.

I don't see how being locked in a hotel room all day would be enjoyable for a pet, either...

Just my 2 cents.

We drive to Disney from North Carolina. We have a yorkie and we take her every time with us. We stay onsite every time. She stays at the EPCOT kennel. We feel it is the best one at Disney. They treat the animals very well. We go and check on her twice a day and walk her. At the EPCOT kennel if you can't get there you can call them and they will walk your dog for $2.50. We have also done that at times. We have tried leaving her home and at the vets kennel, but every time we come back she inevitably gets sick with disgestive problems. So the vets bills start racking up. She does very well by getting to see us each day. Also, instead of her regular food, we bring a mixture of chicken and rice for her to eat. Vets always tell you to give that to sick dogs. We know she will love to eat that and she does. We have tried bringing her regular Iams food, but on vacation she won't eat it and for 10 days we can't have a non eating dog.
