Two days?

Last minute disneyland trip. I have never been. The room would be 240$ for two nights. The trip would cost us 3 grand for 2 days. That's 2 adults. 2 children and 1 free baby. That's why it's so last minute. Trying to fly while the baby is still free as he will be turning two this year ( guess he's not really a baby then :: sad face:: ) would you do this?

My budget for lodging/tickets is $3300 for an entire 8 days so probably not.....but it depends on your household financial situation. 2 days would not feel like enough for me.......

If you can afford it, why not? If you are putting it on a credit card and paying it over time, that's another thing. For me, no way. That's an expensive 2 day trip.

I would say 4 days would probably be a better length of stay ... (for 3K), otherwise, that sure seems expensive for just 2 days.

I agree, if the rooms are that inexpensive then stay for more days. 2 days won't be enough.

If I had the money for it I totally would. I wouldn't put a price on Disney! My hubby may disagree though!:sad2:

disneyland is expensive. it just is.
if at all possible i would extend your trip by adding one day. does your pricing include 3 day park hoppers? are you renting a car? also if you are traveling from a distance it would seem worth it to spend more time, even one more day.

The money includes a 2 day hopper. Not renting a car. Found a service to take us to the airport for 30$ a person. Would maybe have to get a taxi or find out if the good neighbor hotels have a shuttle. I'd love to do 3 days but its just not possible

The thing that's costing the most is the flights but the flights aren't alot like driven up, it's just that how much the cost from Maryland to Cali. I'm just trying to justify spending the money and not feel bad.

Yikes! I was (am) having trouble justifying $500 for two adults for an afternoon in the park, one night hotel, and a few hours in the morning, not including airfare ($150 for hotel room, $250 for two 3-day park hoppers at the military rate)

Yea unfortunately the airfare is costing 1,600! Yikes lol

Grrr wasn't done with that post yet, stupid fat fingers on iPhone. Anyway, with hotel and tickets and meals and such it's around $500 and I was stressing over that, can't imagine $3000 for just another night! Yikes! If we weren't already coming here as part of a larger trip, no way I would spend three grand for two days anywhere! But everyone has different circumstances. I hope you have fun if you do go!

In my opinion that is way to much money for 2 days. But if you have the cash burning a hole in your pocket, then spend away.

if you have the money, then yes go ahead.
BUT
1 - it does seem like a lot
2 - you are traveling ALL the way across the country. there will be jet lag and tired kids and now you have to rush through Disney in 2 days.

if it's feasible i say save that $3K and add to it until you can spend 4-5 days in the anaheim area. go to DL/DCA for 3 days, the beach, etc. make it a vacation.

THIS

The whole rational of rushing a trip just to save on one airfare while the infant is a "+1" is penny wise and pound foolish. I'd much rather spend $4K on a four day trip than $3K for just two days. Not only will it be less per day, it will be a more relaxed pace and you'll actually get to see almost everything in the parks. Two days for a family who has never been before, with an infant in tow, is not even close to enough time in my opinion.

No, I would not spend $3000+ for 2 days. That's way too much money for way too little time. Why not take some time and plan for a time when you can take a longer vacation?

This.

If you can afford the $ and really want to do the trip then absolutely go for it! We spent $7k+ on our first DL trip with our son. (5 days, two bedroom suite at DLH, yikes!) So, I don't mind spending the money if I feel as though we are getting value for it.

If it were me, I would save the $ and spend a bit more time in DL, I would do at LEAST 3-4 days in the parks.

Oh also because I don't live there. So her flying with 3 plus kids its too much. So I have to fly from Florida to Maryland to Cali. So I will already be in Maryland at this time with a free flight. And the baby is free. So we thought maybe to Cali we go. But still not really sure

I agree with what others are saying, if you have the money to spend, then go for it. It is a short amount of time to spend that much, but you know your finances and your family's budget. If you want to give your family the trip that badly, and it won't put a big dent in the bank account, then go and have a blast. But if you're gonna feel bad and guilty about how much you've spent, than that will be the focus of the trip.

Have you priced out all available options from different websites? What hotel were you looking at - Does it have free parking or free internet or even free breakfast that would help you save money on meals on your trip? These are things that will really help when you're on the trip itself.

What dates are you going? Will you have time to read up on DLR so that you can get the most out of your two days?
