Would you spend $2000 on a pair of pants?

I'd spend $2k on a pair of pants if they made my butt look amazing. ;)

Just kidding. My limit on jeans is about $100. The most I've spent was $160 for a pair of Joe's Jeans and I had the worst buyer's remorse for weeks. :guilty:

I wouldn't mind living the lifestyle where $2000 pants are the norm, but until Warren Buffet adopts me, I will stick with sales at Loft.

Exactly. I remember one year the 76'ers played the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan went to Atlantic City and lost $100,000 bucks gambling. Every body was in an uproar. :confused3 I couldn't understand it. 100 Grand to MJ was probably the pocket change Nike threw at him. Oh and he still went out and scored 32 points against the sixers. LOL.

It's all relative. If you had grew up wealthy and your parents, friends and family all shopped at high end stores you would probably not think twice about dropping 1000 bucks on clothing. It's really about what you are accustomed to.

I remember when Donald Trump got married to his current wife five years ago and the wedding cost something around $4 million. My mom said that was a crazy amount to spend. I told her that is nothing to Donald Trump. That's a ton of money to average people but to him it's no more than what people spend on a wedding....around $25,000. It all equals out.

Exactly. If you have billions of dollars $2000 is nothing.

Even if I was so wealthy I never had to worry about money for myself or even my grandchildren, I admit it would be hard for me to spend that much on pants. Pants are something that can not fit based on how much weight you gain or lose so it wouldn't be worth it to me.

I agree with you 100%. BUT, I guess if you were that rich, you could just get the fat sucked out or put back in. Depending on which you needed in order for the jeans to fit.;)

I can see spending a lot for quality but are the $2000 pants really so much better than say $200 pants? It seems wasteful.

It IS wasteful. I used to sew (don't have time now) and the only reason a pair of pants would cost $2,000 is to appease the designer. No fabric or labor is worth that. :sad2:

No way.. I don't care how good they make me look. That $2000 could be used for so many BETTER things like feeding kids in poor countries, treating my family to a Disney trip, etc.

That's what gets me. There's not really that much value you can add to a pair of pants to make it worth $2000.

What kind of material could justify a $2000 price tag -- alligator skin? shark skin? reinforced teflon that will never wear out? I don't know. :rotfl:

Worth rarely is connected with the actual materials. Ferrari makes a car called the Enzo that sells for $670,000 bucks. Pretty much is made with the same materials that other cars are made for.

I laughed the last time I went to buy a washer machine. $1000 bucks for a washer, gimme a break.

In reality how many times have people looked at the price of a Disney concierge deluxe room and said. "you gotta be kidding me"

I know I did!! :scared1:

Price = the fool who is willing to pay it. If I thought my dirty sneakers would bring in $200, I'd sell it to the first fool with a Paypal account. :surfweb:

No way!!!
Even if I was a billionaire, I can think of much better things to do with 2K

I prefer jeans or so, I do not feel comfortable in very expensive or elegant clothes.

No way would I pay that..in fact if I ever won the lotto (please God..I sooo deserve it!) I told DH that I wouldn't spend 900.00 on a tank top (saw one at a store once CRAZY) but I would finally be able to buy Baby Gap off the rack instead of waiting for it to go on clearance lol...

Most of my pants are under $20.00 but If I found a pair I really liked I'd splurge and pay $20.00. Oh, and OP, you may want to edit your title, you accidently missed the decimal point in your original post. I mean, $2000 for a pair of pants, really, that's just silly! :lmao:

I think those of us who aren't multi gazillionaires have problems thinking with this sort of mentality. If someone handed me millions of dollars right now, or if I married a millionaire and I just suddenly stepped into the lifestyle, there is no way I could fathom spending that much money on something like that. However, many of these people have been filthy rich since birth. Its not strange to them to spend this kind of money, and they probably wonder how the rest of us survive with merely a decimal of what they have.

$2000.00 for a pair of pants?! :faint: ... that's just crazy  ... I could think of so many other better things to spend the money on, and a pair of pants is not one of them ... :)
