Would you sleep in someone else's bed without changing the sheets?

The last time they were here, I DID change the sheets for them, and then they said they brought the air mattress, but slept on the couch. I thought they would do the same this time.

I wouldn't have expected them to wash the dirty ones... just that they would ask where clean ones were. Oh well, another lesson learned, I guess.

We just had company stay at the house for a few days. Not only did I provide fresh, laundered sheets, but I also washed the blanket and comfortor for the bed. When they left, ALL of it got washed again. Never would I expect someone to come into my house to stay the night and NOT provide them with a clean bed.

If someone came to my house to watch my kids I would be thankful. I would have "their" bed ready for them. If it was mine they were going to use it would have clean sheets on them. The day I left I would remove the sheets maybe not wash them but the home owner could put in the effort to prepare the bed the way they want it. just sayin:rolleyes1

Exactly.

I wouldn't sleep in someone else's bed period. A guest room, yes, the master bedroom, no, even if the sheets were clean. It's just weird to me, and it would be weird to have someone sleep in our bed. If there wasn't a guest room, I'd sleep on the couch with clean sheets. If there was a guest room I'd assume the sheets were clean.

Nope! I change the sheets when someone stays here to watch the dogs. And when I get home I change them again. I don't expect someone to sleep on dirty sheets and I certainly don't want to sleep on dirty sheets.

Totally grosses me out to think of sleeping on used sheets - even pillowcases. :crazy2:

Even when the kids have friends over, I change the bedding so they have fresh EVERYTHING...pillowcases included. I even tell the kids that I've just changed the bedding for them.

Maybe you don't have a guest room? When my parents come to watch our kids, they sleep in our bed, which is on the first floor. I always change the sheets out, because it's "their" guest room (our guest room is on the second floor, and I try to make things easy for my parents)

I would have assumed that if I was at your house watching your kids for the weekend you would have changed them for me.

Why would I bring my own sheets and sleep on the couch if I was doing you a favor?

Honestly if it were someone in my family it wouldn't bother me that much to sleep in their bed on their sheets. If you shared a bed growing up you are used to sharing sheets.

I more along these lines. I can't imagine asking someone to stay at my house and watch my children and think they should/would sleep on the couch. I would have had fresh sheets on my bed in anticipation of them using it and would plan to put fresh ones on when I got home.

If we have overnight guests I make up the guest bedroom with fresh sheets, and launder the blankets. I wouldn't expect anyone to sleep on a bed with the sheets not being clean. Even if it's unexpected company, as in when the power goes out (we have a generator) and people stay with us I will run upstairs and put clean sheets on before they go up.

If we were staying somewhere to care for someone's children or their pets I would not sleep in their bed without changing the sheets first, unless I was told the sheets had just been changed. If I could not find clean sheets I would sleep on the couch.

I have occasionally slept on sheets after my granddaughter slept in my bed for a night. I make sure they are clean for her to sleep on, but if she only stays one night I don't always wash the sheets again right after she leaves. I

SOmeone correct me here if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that bedding at WDW hotels does not always get changed between guests (or at the very least the comforter does not get washed between guests).

I have stayed over at other's homes and slept in their beds. Whether or not clean bedding was put on the bed first I have no idea. When we have overnight guests I put clean bedding on the guest room bed and launder it when they leave.

I don't really have a problem sleeping in a bed with "unfresh" sheets.

When I spend the night in someone else's house, I expect the sheets to be clean but I know in reality that it just might not be the case.

I always provide clean sheets when someone spends the night. And once that person is gone, the bed linens are changed, ready for the next person.

Once, about 25 years ago, we spent the night at my SIL's house. We were given her son's room. That night when we went to bed we discovered the filthiest, greasiest sheets imaginable. Needless to say, we brought this to her attention. Her response was that she had told her son to change his sheets and he apparently didn't. We, in turn, told her that we were not going to sleep in that bed without clean sheets. We got the clean sheets but I slept on the couch. The bed stunk even with clean sheets.

Over the years, we have stayed at my SIL's home. Her kids are all grown and she now has grandkids. I wonder how many times I have stayed at her home sleeping in used sheets. :scared1: No, maybe I shouldn't wonder.......

I'm the weirdo...won't bother me...

But just for the record if I have a sitter house sitting I do change the sheets on my bed for them and change when I get home. But if I happened to sleep on used sheets I wouldn't wig out.

I don't think the comfortor gets changed between guests. At the very least the sheets do. I think many don't use the comforter because of this very reason.

I do like the new habit that some hotels use when they have an overwrap of a sheet on top of the blanket. Somehow they use a flat top sheet and encase the blanket so that you never really come into contact with the blanket. It seems more clean this way.

MTE.

When I and my DB's sleep over at my DM and DF's we don't even think about this. The sheets get changed when they need it, or when my mom needs to find work for my DNiece and/or DNephew to do to earn extra spending money. One sibling sleeping one or two nights does not constitute the sheets needing to be changed.

I mean, I used to split cokes with these people, and we ate each other's pizza! We still steal from each other's plates at restaurants and finish off each other's desserts. Why would I care if they slept on the sheets before me?
