Would you skip DHS?

I used to love DHS, but now it is a kind-of "been there, done that thing" What I would recommend (and only because it does pain me to skip ToT, RnRC, and fantasmic) is to get a hopper ticket (but only for that day) and do AK in the morning until like 4 (they close early anyways) and then spend the rest of the night at DHS. Do the headliners, see fantasmic, end of day!

can you do that? I thought you had to ay for park hopper for he whole ticket or not at all?

We have to ride Star Tours when we go so skipping DHS is not an option.

It's interesting how much opinion varies. We are going for 8 days, with one rest day in the middle, and one down day in the beginning. That leaves us 6 park days. We're doing each park twice and skipping DHS. I hate TT, and Fantasmic, to me, was eh. I'm never riding RnRC, so the park doesn't offer much to me. I will miss ST, and that's a bummer, but I'd rather see more aminals! I also get why others love the park.

We are doing the same thing! 2 days each in MK and Epcot, 1 day in AK, 1 day resort and DD, and not even going to DHS. We went last time and weren't impressed. Maybe once our kids are a little older and can ride more rides then we will go back. But right now we don't feel it's a must do, not like the other parks and DD.

I've done HS so much that it tends to be the lowest on the totem pole, park wise. The last trip we did we spent the least amount of time there. This upcoming trip, we're spending 2 full days in each park but only 1 at the Studios.

We could never ever ever skip DHS! Love the attractions but by far the whole "vibe" there is just awesome! The absolute greatest memories we have are of all the Streetsmophere performances:Mulch, Sweat & Shears, The Construction Guys, The director looking for extras to film, and my all time favorite, The improv group and their silly "99 ______ walked into a bar...." No way could I miss that park!:lovestruc

I've skipped AK so many times, I have actually never gone. We are going to AK on our upcoming trip in April. DHS has the best action/thrill rides in Disney, so it is more my speed. We also have an annual membership to a great zoo locally, so I'm not dying to see animals.

If you feel DHS is skippable, then skip it. Sounds like you have been before and that you will probably go to Disney again, so try it. If you miss it, then next time you can make sure to plan time to go. Who knows, it might build some anticipation for your next trip! DH doesn't like to go to Disney too much. He thinks it takes away from the magic. The bored response of some children we knew who went to Disney World yearly and had DVC owning parents said it all. They would flippantly talk about Disney World as if it was no big deal. They would say that maybe this year they would use their points to do something cool like a Disney Vacation to Africa and a real safari. They no longer appreciated Disney World and didn't get very excited about going.

DHS is our "least needed to do" park. We have skipped DHS some trips, and on other trips it's our "arrival day" park if we have an early morning flight. We arrive, check in, relax, then go to DHS in the late afternoon. Between single rider line and legacy FP, we always got on ToT, RnRC, and Star Tours. We are "meh" about TSMM so not a big deal. Now that you can reserve rides with FP+, it would definitely be easy to do DHS on our arrival day… or just skip it, if you want.

We'd NEVER skip AK; love the Safari, FoTLK, Dinosaur, EE, KRR! If we are at WDW at the "right" time of year and it's a short trip, we've skipped a regular park day at MK and substituted a hard ticket to either MNSSHP or MVMCP. Gotta do what ya gotta do at Disney… a part-day at DHS followed by an evening at MNSSHP on day 1, Epcot on day 2, AK on day 3, home on day 4. Not deluxe, but better than nothing!

I would never skip DHS it is amazing and it has toy story mania. Toy story mania is so cool and awesome. It also has the scary rides like TOT and rockin roller coaster. I couldn't skip this park i think it's amazing.

I would never skip DHS I think it is really cool. I love toy story mania it's one of my favorite rides so DHS is a must for me

I wouldn't skip it but I would only do a half day there and my DD 15 feels the same, however DD 21 would never skip it, but she would skip AK. HS is her favorite park, she would spend the whole day though, going back and forth between RnRc and ToT.

NEVER! It's my second favorite park :) Our last two trips we did the Animation Academy a total of 12 times. And this trip, my DS8 and I fell in love with Mulch, Sweat and Shears!!

No way I could skip it.
I love the Rock'n'Rollercoaster, TOT, Indiana Jones, and TSSM. And I could ride Star Tours all day. ALL DAY SON!

I've skipped AK so many times, I have actually never gone. We are going to AK on our upcoming trip in April.

When we went in 1998, we went to AK, but skipped MK, Epcot, and DHS :lmao:.

Personally, I would consider skipping DHS. It is my least favorite of the parks. I am going in 2 months and I am actually "sort of" skipping it and not going with my party for rope drop there in order to go spend an additional day by myself at MK. I say "sort of" because I will be there one evening with a late-day FP+ for Toy Story and a dinner package to see Fantasmic. The other thing I will try to do is do the animation class. If I wasn't going there for a few hours one evening, I probably wouldn't skip it, unless I had just been there recently. At this point, I don't really ride RnR or ToT, and I've been there about a year ago so I don't feel like I need to sit through all the shows and things again.

I wouldn't skip it. If there's any park I would HAVE to skip it would be AK...I could always go to another zoo.

I wouldn't skip DHS. Somedays we combine AK and DHS together since we consider them both to be "half day" parks.

For me personally... sure I would skip DHS. Our trip in June we are skipping AK and may or may not skip DHS. We love MK and Epcot much more and would rather focus on those parks. We are also planning on doing a couple of days at the water parks and a non-Disney park. We are not park commando must see it all type of touring people. For someone on their 1st trip or a "once in a lifetime" trip I would always recommend going to all 4 parks. Since we have been before and plan on going again I don't see any reason not to skip the parks we don't enjoy as much.

I'm thinking of doing a trip down to WDW(likely) 2015. Of course for me MK, Epcot and to a lesser extent AK is a must. But DHS is a take it or leave scenario these days. I like some of things there but I'm not sure it justifies a full days visit.

Other than Magic Kingdom, this is my favorite park. We never skip it.

My DD's favorite ride of all time is ToT, so DHS is a must for us. We typically only spend a half day there though and then swim and have dinner at a resort or DTD.
