Vague title I know.
Last year I found out a girl I knew in HS died of a brain tumor. She was a year younger than me. We were both in choir and in a madrigal group together with 16 other students. When I was a Jr and she a sophmore we took voice lessions during our free period together.
Duing the last few months I've been transferring all my HS VHS tapes to DVD. Many are choir performances, plays, musicals and other events that she was involved in. I've made copies for the HS friends that I've kept in touch with.
Part of me feels like I should send copies to her parents. I don't know them at all, and I actually don't have any way of contacting them but I do know the priest at their church and I'm sure he or my HS would forward them to her family. This girl was also close to my HS boyfriend's sister and I do know how to contact him. I'm positive that his sister would still keep intouch with her family.
It's really no work for be to burn additional copies of the DVDs and I don't think I'd really want to talk to or see her family. I'd likely just give them to the priest next time I'm home and have him pass them along.
What do you think? Would you send them? I feel like I'm intruding on their grief. That isn't my intention at all. I just noticed while transferring the video how much she's in them. I don't even know if that would make them more sad or if they'd even want something like that.
