Would you say "hello"?

Since alot of you want to get on me about whatver big money you think I have -- and I don't, I am middle class, though probably upper middle class as defined by dollars earned for my area

Thanks for clearing that up. Although, you may want to post a copy of your bank statement just in case. I wouldn't want people thinking I was middle class if I were upper middle class.

BTW, no one is "getting on you" about how much money you have. It's how much you talk about money. In fact, no one's really even "getting on you" for talking about how much cash you've plunked down for something. We are just saying it's something that you do...often. We all have things we like to talk about here. For me, it's my kids. You seem to delight in talking about how much money you spend...in specific detail. :confused3 To each his own, etc.

I'm gonna finish my participation in this thread with these thoughts, aimed only at those who thought I was rude.

How can it be rude, to not say hello, to someone who may not have even seen me? And since when is it rude, to have enough compassion for someone, that you don't want to take the chance at emabarassing them?

Ok, that's it. I'm done with this thread.

To those who got the point I was trying to make, thank you.

You did ask for an opinion, right?

I thought so, and I really didn't notice much if any rudeness. At least no more than normal on a thread where different opinions are asked for and received.

Wow... he asked for opinions, not to be ripped a new one. Then again this thread is classic for the DISboards....

Would I say hello? Probably.

PD, perhaps you need to stick with your issues with retail. lol j/k :wizard:

So now you are psychic and can know the person didn't see you? :confused3 How would you know that saying hello would be embarrassing? :confused3

Nice attempt, but you asked for opinions and you received them. That's life... not everyone's going to agree with you all the time. If you don't want honest opinions, don't ask for them.

Oh phuleeze... this thread doesn't hold a birthday candle to real DISboard classics. Dear old Papa didn't get ripped a new one. Once again, he discovered that every person who frequents the DISboards is not going to agree with him 100% of the time. I suppose it is sad to realize that not everyone here is a "Papa lover." :rotfl2:

And the first post didn't clarify if the person saw Papa or not. If he didn't, it really doesn't matter if Papa says hi. If he did, or if there's a reasonable chance that he did, then that's a different issue.

C'mon we all know this was just a "hypothetical" as is most of Papas posts. Ain't they pops? :confused3

I thinking Papa is missing the point that it wasn't really just not saying Hi that was rude - especially if the person didn't see him. It was the reason he gave that was really rude.

I still can 't believe how condescending that sounds. It's so arrogant to think that you're so much better off than someone that the very sight of you will embarrass them. I'm in shock over that thought process, actually.

Here's a thought: maybe your old friend saw you, thought *you* looked rough, and didn't want to embarrass YOU. ;)

I can't figure out why nobody wants to say hello to me. :confused3
