Would you rather: two shorter trips or one long trip?

I can see both being good depending on circumstances.

We only visit Disney every 3 years +/- a bit. With that, I'm taking the longest vacation I can convince my husband to do (he doesn't love Disney as much as I do). My ideal trip would likely be 10 nights.

If we did Disney yearly (or more) I would definitely take shorter trips. I wouldn't feel the need to pack everything into a trip because we will be back soon.

A lot of it depends on your circumstances. We usually don't like to go when its crazy crowded over school breaks, but our kids are at the age where they can't miss much school. So for right now, we're doing multiple shorter trips for weekends. When they were smaller we preferred longer trips. May go back to longer trips after they graduate?
So multiple shorter trips > crowds

The side effect benefit to this is we get to sample different kinds of trips (Halloween, F&W, Holiday Festivals, etc) and eat lots of the seasonal food offerings!

We always take two trips... we did a long 10 dsy trip once we were so tired when it was over...
So now we take two

Our last trip (2017) was a drive from NYC, 14 nights and 10 day park ticket. Our next trip will be in 2023 and another super long one. I'm much happier with the longer trip spaced years apart than the more regular3-4 day trips of my youth by a LONG shot.

in the past we've always flown so longer trips for sure. In the future now that we have added a child we may be driving instead of flying so we may entertain 4-5 park days, 1-2 days visiting family and friends on both coasts since I was born and raised in FL and then obviously 2 travel days so our days in the parks may change but trip length will be about the same.

The price of airfare coming from Eastern Canada means that, for us, longer trips are more economical. Plus the fact that I'm not a great flyer and it takes all my nerve to get on a plane to begin with LOL

I’m Disney daydreaming and wonder what other budget-conscious Disney World fans say:

Two 4-day Disney trips
Or
One 8-day Disney trip

My strategy has been to take short trips (with just one or two park days) so I can go to Disney more often. This year we had an amazing quick trip in February and are hopeful that we can get back in September.

But I have to admit that I am beginning to wish I had a full week+ on the horizon.
I have pets, so I prefer to take two shorter trips even though the cost is more because we have to fly. We usually stay 4-5 days.

If you take 2 trips, you spend PART of 4 days settling in, packing, unpacking, driving/flying 4 times. We usually go for one longer trip and take one day in the middle to relax at the resort. With one longer trip, you're not so concerned about getting out there so early or staying so late, we can alternate an early day or a late night. Don't forget, your park ticket gets cheaper as you add more days.
