Would you pick budget, avis or dollar?

So, after many weeks of searching for an acceptable car rental rate I have found a couple that aren't fabulous but MUCH better than before. I had been debating renting after our time at Universal or Right from our arrival at MCO for the entire trip. The rates I found are from MCO June 26-July 5. $242 Budget, $238 Avis, and $253 Dollar. with these rates it is now cheaper to pay the parking at Universal than to pay for a taxi and rent from universal. it also gives us a bit more flexibility on what time we can leave Universal for Disney.

My question is which company would you prefer based on experieNce or just any knowledge you may all have that I do not?
Oh and in case you are wondeRing it is for a midsize/intermediate car. I would have preferred alamo or national but both are over $300.

Thanks!

I prefer Avis, myself. However, this is based on the discounts and insurance agreements they have with our insurance provider (USAA).

However, I like the service Avis provides, but I also like Budget, too. They are the same company. Dollar is with Thrifty.

When renting cars, I like to use Car Rental Savers to compare various rates. The site makes it easy to see who has the lowest rate at any given time, so I can check daily, if I want, and not be too put out. Then I go to the car's website and reserve it.

In the end, make sure you sign up for these companies' frequent user programs. It provides a little bit of a boost in by-passing the counter (go directly to the booth in the garage) and if there is a glitch, they'll cover their frequent renter program people before the general public, normally.

:) On a side note, try Budget BCD U072756 (from Southwest) and coupon MUWZ023. I have the same dates as you and my rental is less for a full size. This might be your deciding factor

Just used Dollar last week with no problems. My vote would be for Dollar.

If you go with Dollar, make sure to sign up for Dollar Express on line. It's free, and means that you can skip the rental counter and go straight to your car.

OP of the three you list: dollar

but imo alamo/national consistently has the best rates when i price it out, including the 2nd driver.

Thanks for all the replies. I did go with budget since I ended up with the bestdeal Wth them. I did sign up for frequent user to go straight to garage. BJs code was best but I didn't see the resposes before I booked to try Southwest codes. we are now leaving Tuesday late afternoon and rental was the same, actually got itfor $10 less. Maybe I w ill check the Southwest codes now.
Thanks again! 2 more day! :woohoo:
