I don't think I'd pay to play VMK even with vast improvements (and those improvements would have to be delivered before I would even consider paying to play). For starters, the games would have to work on my Mac and browsers other than Safari would have to be supported for Mac. Next on my list would be better service so I wouldn't get disconnected constantly. And I still would want more things fixed before I'd pay to play.
There are plenty of other free sites available. I like the logic games on Neopets, I'm rather good at that sort of thing. Shooting games are a waste for me, I stink at them. I still play them but not very often. I played Galaga for years and still stink at it! Given VMK has mostly shooting games, it wouldn't be worth paying for in my opinion. Heck, we have the Sims and Roller Coaster Tycoon on our non-Mac computer. I even have some strategy games for the Mac. I'd rather start playing those than pay for VMK. Almost forgot, we have several game consoles and games to go with them (from Atari 2600 to PS2!). I even have Dance Dance Revolution with a nice dance pad! I guess what I'm trying to say is I have plenty of other options beyond VMK and I'd rather take advantage of them than pay for VMK.
That said, I do enjoy playing VMK and hope they continue to offer it as a free service. I spend tons of time playing VMK so obviously they are doing some things right! I do hope they get the problems with events fixed so we can all stop complaining about that stuff.
