Hi all. Here are our reservations for the week of Aug. 14 - 20... have some questions. We are a group of 10 (2 families with a total of 6 kids, ages 5, 8, 8, 8, 10, 10). Would love your experienced eyes for anything that I need to change. Thank you!!

Aug. 14 (Sun, EP) - 6:50 Teppan Edo (Will we have enough time to finish dinner and see Illuminations?)

Aug. 15 (Mon, AK) - 6:20 Whispering Canyon (What time do we have to leave AK to get there on time?)

Aug. 16 (Tue, MK) - 8:20 Chef Mickey, breakfast (About how long can we expect to be there and what time would we get to MK?) May go with a 9:35 reservation depending on your answer.

Aug. 17 (Wed, MK or EP) - 7:25 1900 Park Fare (What time do we have to leave to get there on time?) There is also an 8:25 reservation available...would anything be different?

Aug. 15 (Mon, AK) - 6:20 Whispering Canyon (What time do we have to leave AK to get there on time?) depends on how you are getting there but since animal kingdom closes at 5 you could stay till closing and still make it

Aug. 16 (Tue, MK) - 8:20 Chef Mickey, breakfast (About how long can we expect to be there and what time would we get to MK?) May go with a 9:35 reservation depending on your answer. never done this so no idea

There is also an 8:25 reservation available...would anything be different?this resort is on the monorail so should be pretty quick, I would allow 30 minutes for travel but you probably will get there early

There is also an 8:25 reservation available...would anything be different? really late night if you do 8:25 ... not seated until close to 9 and then not done until 10.... you need a RD at DHS. I'd stick with earlier and leave MK by 7 or epcot by 6:30

We like to watch Illuminations from the other side of the lagoon and we usually stake out our spot at least an hour in advance.

Aug. 15 (Mon, AK) - 6:20 Whispering Canyon (What time do we have to leave AK to get there on time?) You should allow at least an hour to an hour and a half for travel time.

Aug. 16 (Tue, MK) - 8:20 Chef Mickey, breakfast (About how long can we expect to be there and what time would we get to MK?) May go with a 9:35 reservation depending on your answer. There are 5 of us in our family and the average character meal takes us at least an hour to eat and see all of the characters.

Aug. 17 (Wed, MK or EP) - 7:25 1900 Park Fare (What time do we have to leave to get there on time?) There is also an 8:25 reservation available...would anything be different? If you are at MK it is a short ride on the monorail to the GF; if you are at Epcot you will need to allow at least 30 minutes for the monorail ride -- you are going to be there during a fairly busy time of year and there is a pretty good chance you will have to wait in line for the monorail. There wouldn't be anything different between the two ADR times. The later one may be better since it is outside the "regular" dinner hours.

Aug. 18 (Thurs, DHS) - 3:45 Mama Melrose or Sci-Fi 1:25 (Should we stay with the Fantasmic package or go for lunch?) You will get lots of different responses here. We don't use the dinner package because the reserved seating area isn't where we like to sit for Fantasmic. During the summer they typically offer two showings of Fantasmic, one at 9 and one at 10:30; we go to the 10:30 show to avoid the Fantasmic stampede.

Aug. 19 (Fri, MK) - 7:00 O'Hana (Will we have enough time to finish dinner to see the Electrical Parade and Wishes from the resort?) You should have plenty of time to do this.

Aug. 14 (Sun, EP) - 6:50 Teppan Edo (Will we have enough time to finish dinner and see Illuminations?) - We love Teppan Edo. We were there for about 90 minutes. You would make it in time, but not sure how good your seats will be.

We have done this and it is fun. I would expect to be there for at least 1 hour. I would stick with the earlier ressie or you could go to MK first ride 1 or 2 rides get a fast pass for a ride and then head to chef mickeys for the 9:35 ressie.

I would not stay there more than an hour.

If your going for food I would pick mama melrose if you are going for experience than go with sci fi. The food is not bad at sci fi it is just ok. We have gone twice and liked it there. Mama melrose is good too. We went once with the fantasmic package and once without and if I was to choose again I would go with the package.

Aug. 14 (Sun, EP) - 6:50 Teppan Edo (Will we have enough time to finish dinner and see Illuminations?) Like others have said, it depends on how long you have to wait to be seated. But, if you're seated by 7:15 & done by 8:15, you should be fine. We normally stake out our viewing spot 45 minutes to an hour before Illuminations begins. I think, though, even at 30 minutes before, you'll still be able to see the show - you just might not get the best viewing spot.

Aug. 15 (Mon, AK) - 6:20 Whispering Canyon (What time do we have to leave AK to get there on time?) Will you have your own transportation? Does AK close at 5:00 pm on 8/15? If you're driving, leaving at closing time will give you plenty of time to get to the WL, park, & check in for your ADR. Even if you're relying on Disney transportation, leaving at 5:00 pm should get you to the resort in plenty of time. From the AK, just get on the bus that goes to the WL. If AK closes later than 5:00 pm, if I were driving, I'd probably leave AK around 5:30 pm to arrive at the WL around 6:00 pm. If getting on a Disney bus, I'd probably want to be getting on the bus to the WL from the AK at exactly 5:30 pm.

Aug. 16 (Tue, MK) - 8:20 Chef Mickey, breakfast (About how long can we expect to be there and what time would we get to MK?) May go with a 9:35 reservation depending on your answer. I'd keep my 8:20 ADR just because I wouldn't want to leave the MK to go to breakfast & then go back to MK - too much time is lost in going back & forth. At 8:20 am, there shouldn't be too much wait. Since it's a buffet, ask to pay your bill as soon as you sit down - this way, as soon as you're done & have seen all the characters, you can leave w/o having to sit & wait on your check. If you're seated on time, you should be done around 9:20. By monorail, I think you'd arrive in the MK (past bag-check & turnstiles) around 9:50-ish - if everything's running smoothly & quickly. Walking from the Contemporary to the MK, I think you'd arrive in the MK around 9:40-ish - depending on how quick you are.

Aug. 17 (Wed, MK or EP) - 7:25 1900 Park Fare (What time do we have to leave to get there on time?) There is also an 8:25 reservation available...would anything be different? Since you're supposed to check in for your ADR 15 minutes early, I'd probably leave the MK around 7:00 pm & probably leave EPCOT (be getting on the monorail) at 6:45 pm.

Aug. 18 (Thurs, DHS) - 3:45 Mama Melrose or Sci-Fi 1:25 (Should we stay with the Fantasmic package or go for lunch?) Sci-Fi is fun, but, if you're planning on seeing Fantasmic!, I'd keep the Fantasmic Package.

Aug. 19 (Fri, MK) - 7:00 O'Hana (Will we have enough time to finish dinner to see the Electrical Parade and Wishes from the resort?) What time is Wishes that night? Often times, the later your ADR time is, the longer it takes to get seated at 'Ohana. If you're seated by 7:30 pm, you should be done by 8:30 pm. Are you planning on watching Wishes from the restaurant or from the beach at the Poly?

Aug. 14 (Sun, EP) - 6:50 Teppan Edo (Will we have enough time to finish dinner and see Illuminations?)

Probably. Teppan Edo sometimes has a wait for dinner because it's fairly popular. But, Assuming you get in by about 7:30, you should be done by 9:00 for Illuminations. If you want to be on the safe side, you might make a slightly earlier ADR; but you're probably okay.

Aug. 15 (Mon, AK) - 6:20 Whispering Canyon (What time do we have to leave AK to get there on time?)

I usually give myself a full 90 minutes to get to the ADR and check in 15 minutes early. It doesn't take that long to travel from Point A to Point B, but sometimes you've just missed the bus and you have to wait on the next one. I would absolutely plan on being at the bus stop no later than 5:00 for that 6:20 ADR...maybe even 4:45..but that's me.

Aug. 16 (Tue, MK) - 8:20 Chef Mickey, breakfast (About how long can we expect to be there and what time would we get to MK?) May go with a 9:35 reservation depending on your answer.

Personally, I always allow about 90 minutes from my ADR time until we're done...and then I always check in early. So, in this case, I'd plan to be done by about 9:50 or 10. If you get done early, then that's a bonus. And you probably will if there's not much of a wait once you check in.

It depends upon whether you're at MK or EP. At MK, it's just a quick ride to the GF on the monorail. I'd think 45 minutes would be MORE than enough time. If, however, your'e at EP, I'd plan for an hour or 75 minutes. You have to change monorails and that can take time. In either case, you're likely to arrive a bit early, but it's always better to be early than late...especially with a large group. And, just a note that they won't let you check in for your ADR until every member of your party is present.

Depends upon how badly you want to see Fantasmic! without having to wait in a long line. For me, personally, I'd rather do the MM just so that we wouldn't have to wait in line for F!. But, if you don't mind the wait for F!, then lunch at Sci-Fi is fun.

I'm gonna go out on a limb on this one and say probably not. 'Ohana has been experiencing long wait times. So, with a group your size, I wouldn't plan on being seated until about 7:45. It'll take a good hour or more to get through dinner and, by that time, the electrical parade is over. You *might* make it, but you'd be cutting it *REALLY* short.

Didn't realize that there were preferred spots to watch Illuminations. Might have to change the reservation to an earlier time now.

The AK closes at 6:00 every night that week. If we drive and leave by 5:45? There is a 7:40 slot available that night. Just don't want to have too much down time from when the park closes to the reservation.

Looks like we should stay with the 8:20 AM reservation for Chef M to get to MK at a decent time.

Looks like we should stick with the 7:25 PM reservation for 1900 PF unless we don't mind eating late.

Aug. 14 (Sun, EP) - 6:50 Teppan Edo (Will we have enough time to finish dinner and see Illuminations?) That shouldn't be an issue at all. Be aware that the best view is between the UK and Canada pavilions.

Aug. 15 (Mon, AK) - 6:20 Whispering Canyon (What time do we have to leave AK to get there on time?) I'd leave the park about 45 minutes before your ADR time.

Aug. 16 (Tue, MK) - 8:20 Chef Mickey, breakfast (About how long can we expect to be there and what time would we get to MK?) May go with a 9:35 reservation depending on your answer. Allow 1.5 hours for a character buffet to see all of the characters. I'd rather go for the 8:20 if you can because that'll put you in the park by 10. with a 9:35 it'll be practically noon before you get to the park, which will be different in terms of crowds.

Your preference - it'll cut line waiting so I've heard good things about the Fantasmic Package. The only drawback is eating dinner at that ridiculous time! The MM Fantasmic Package is a good deal on the dining plan though because it includes an appetizer. If paying cash, be aware that it is a set priced menu

I'd alot 2 hours to this ADR. Ohana is known for having a slow check in, though we didn't have an issue with that. Personally, I'd plan to eat dinner in the park if you want to see the MSEP and Wishes. You'll need to stake out a spot to see it, which is unlikely to happen if you have to rush over from an Ohana ADR.

FYI, you can't see the Electrical Parade from the Polynesian. You can see Wishes from the Poly (or 'Ohana if you get a seat near the windows - they even pipe the music in) but personally, I'd much rather watch it from MK if you've never seen it before. Also, the Magic, the Memories, and You light show, which is 15 minutes before Wishes, is really great and totally worth it. I'd plan to go to MK and see the MSEP, the light show, and Wishes all in one day. If everything is being shown on your arrival day, that's what I'd do. I'd get a CS dinner that day and have the parade and fireworks be your introduction to MK.
