Would you have taken all the prizes?

OK got a question for all of you....

Tonight was DS's Family Halloween party at school. It was cute! 7pm-10pm, the kids dressed up as well as some of the adults. There were door prizes, best costume prizes as well as a chinese auction.

When the door prizes were called, some families won 2. My family didn't win a door prize or a costume prize but we did win 5 out of 13 chinese auction prizes, mostly kids halloween stuff, snack stuff or pizza hut, mcdonalds gift certificates stuff like that. I bought 20 tickets, and I must have been the last to put the tickets in and they didn't shake them up. Now, I'm feeling guilty. Should I have kept them all or given some back for them to redraw? I mean I paid like everyone else. I know its too late now, but I feel kind of guilty. Should I? Its a small Catholic school, BTW!

you won them fair and square. Why feel guilty over it?

I really don't like door prizes, because I ALWAYS win something I already have. I am serious, I went to a sample party once and we had a booth (cakes, lots of cakes, I am serious upwards of 20-30 cakes) so towards the end we have about half left (half of each, lol) so we are talking about how much cake we have left. Right as I said, "do you think we have enough cake?" our name was called for a door prize, and my mom went to get it, it was a cake! Guess you can never have enough cake. :rotfl:

You paid so dont feel quilty. I have only won door prizes maybe and its usually something I dont need..lol

Since you said others won more than one as well and they were small prizes I wouldn't worry about it at all. If it had been something major then I would feel guilty but not for small prizes.

Don't fret over something you can't change anyway. In the grand scheme, this is small and will be soon forgotten. I doubt any of the other families are thinking about it.

:)

Yes. The school made their money....do they really care who got the prizes? I think not....and a good time was probably had by all...

Good life lesson for all kids is sometimes you win sometimes you lose. We have sugar coated everything for kids today and when they hit the real world some of them are stunned IMHO.
