Hi, really really want to take my dds to wdw in oct for 9 night will me staying on-site. Do you think id be mad to do it on my own. My friend might come but if she cant do you think i should go anyway. We will be flying direct also my kids have flown alot and have always been as gud as gold, we were in austalia in oct so they have flown long-haul b4 and not a bother with them didnt even have jetlag:confused3. Any advise?

Absolutely!

I took my DDs aged 10, 5 and 2 to WDW for 2 weeks alone.

DH and DS joined us out there for 6 days, but we travelled without them.

I would do it again in a second, had a fantastic time :goodvibes

ETA: I just read that you plan to stay onsite. That's what makes it so manageable IMHO.

Definiely. The only thing I would suggest is to either buy a cheap one there or every other day maybe hire a pushchair as they get very tired at that age. We got one for DD who was 6 at the time and it helped us get round the parks. Just makes it easier for you as they get tired and hot. We just told DD that she couldnt have one everyday and the Disney strollers are quite big.

Yep, you will find being on site so helpful and easy. My kids were 3, 5 and 7 and I had so much fun on my own with them, even managed a resort change mid way through lol. So no way are you mad, it was fantastic to have that quality time with them on my own and I got to be fun mum ;-)

Thanks everyone.

Im going to book for myself and girls and if my friend or bf decide to join us great, but i know we will have a fab time anyway:)

Im going to take a buggy with us as 5yr has a mild disibility she get tierd easily when walking. Ive taken them to dlp myself b4 and they both say they prefer when its just the 3 of us, so i think we will be fine in wdw:)

I would go for it too, you know how well your children will cope and if you can take them to Australia you will be fine.

Are you getting a double buggy?

definitely stay onsite...

i went with the kids by myself many years ago....they were 7 and 10 years old at the time..
we stayed at the all star music for 3 weeks and had an absolute blast!!

we missed not have DH along (he couldn't get away from work that year), but it was a lot of fun...
staying on site made it very easy...we used disney transportation for everything...

i just remembered i went another time on my own....that was really really a long time ago....before DS was born...i went by myself with just DD...she was about 2 years old at the time...
people thought i was nuts, but we had a lovely time!!

thanks guys,

Yes will hav a double buggy, and yes will def stay on-site dont think id go other wise.

Definitely. First time we went, I took my 16 month and 4 year old alone. We flew with BA and they were great with mum's travelling alone and gave us extra legroom seats.

We did my ex there (we were married at the time) but I would have felt v comfortable being there with the kids alone - especially being onsite. We always felt safe and the onsite transport is so convenient with little ones. You'll have a blast.

I was scared about doing it but folk on these forums reassured me, re safety issues etc.
