Would you go to PSB, if you had no interest in character dining?

We plan to stay in the Epcot resort area. We've eaten at PSB before, but had to walk from the front entrance. Being able to enter through an empty WS & have breakfast before the park opens, is really tempting. We have to eat breakfast somewhere anyway, & PSB would be convenient. The drawback for us is that our DS has outgrown the characters. None of us are really that interested in them. (I know, we're bad, bad people. ;) ) Actually, we'd rather have an uninterrupted meal than do the meet & greet, but wouldn't want to appear rude. So, would you still go to breakfast at PSB under these circumstances? TIA for your input.

No. The food is not worth the cost if you are not interested in the characters.

I wouldn't. Its quite expensive for simple breakfast foods. You'd be much better off picking one of the resort buffets.

The breakfast we had there was hot and fresh but pretty unremarkable in any other way. I can't imagine that you can avoid the visits by the princesses unless you told the hostess - a surprising request I'm sure! If you are paying for this oop I would say find somewhere else. If you are using free DDP credits, have nothing else to spend them on and don't mind taking the risk of offending the nice princesses then I say why not?

For the reason that you are stating, yes I would get the first seating I could, enter in the back entrance and go eat then go straight to Soarin!

We went with 2 nieces and they had a great time...the characters spent most of the time talking to the girls so that was just fine with us. The food was good too...lots to choose from (buffet table) and you can get as many platters of hot food as you like. We would not go back for just the 2 of us.

Now what we normally do is go to Cape May, the food is out of this world. Enter through the back and then book it over to Soarin!

Thanks to all for the input. :)

We will be paying OOP for all meals. I definitely don't want to offend anyone. If we go there, we'll be polite & take part in the obligatory meet & greet with a smile on our face.

This does sound really tempting. I love being able to enjoy a park with few people there. You can't beat that experience.

I don't remember there being a buffet table, when we ate there. The only food we had was what our server delivered to the table. It has been quite a while since we ate there though. Then again, I'm not the most observant person on the planet, so we may have just not noticed it.:rolleyes1

I'm pretty sure if you tell your server, they can let the characters/handlers know. I've read trip reports of people that didn't want to see the characters, they said they just waved to them when they walked by. I wouldn't think that was rude at all.

I would just eat at the BC - either the YC Galley or Cape May. Enter through the International Gateway when it opens. Less expensive, different options and still get you in fairly quickly since the IG does not have the crowds of the main entrance.
