We were supposed to be in the world now...but of course Frances ruined that and is reaking havoc on the state. My prayers are with all of the people in Florida.

Now my question...Would you go next weekend. I feel bad going because I know that there will be a lot of cm's that will need to be with their families and do clean up. On the other hand, I think Disney will have to operate and the cm's will be there anyway. I have heard that Ivan is coming...but I don't even want to worry about that. It doesn't seem to be a slow mover like Frances and hopefully wouldn't cause as much devistation. This is such a hard decision...and I am not trying to be selfish. Just wanted some opinions.

WE are planning on going next weekend, Ivan coming or not, as long as the airport is open and we can fly in. We have been planning all year. We have a lot of money invested in this. If we cancel our flight, we have to pay a $100 change fee + the cost of the new ticket, which would be big bucks for 5 people. I dont mind riding out Ivan if he arrives in the state. We are going for 10 days, so im sure we would have plenty of time for fun. Im sure disney will need the tourism money as well after losing some to Frances. I did however cancel our rental car yesterday and ordered a limo instead. I dont want to get a car to just go from airport to resort and back, and maybe 1 day we were going to go to Kennedy space center, and have the car sit in the parking lot and get damaged from wind from a possible hurricane and be responsible for it. If we decide to go to KSC, ill just rent a car for a day or two at WDW.

We leave Friday and unless they close the airport we will be there! We have been planning this trip for over a year too and the kids are sooooo excited. I was wondering how Frances (and threat of Ivan) will affect the crowds as well. I'm curious if some people will just push back their arrival date and there may be more people for the 8 days we will be there (9/10-9/18/04) or if some will cancel their trip entirely and the parks will be much less crowed. I certainly feel sorry for those families with young kids who had to cancle due to the weather 8-(. Stay away Ivan!!

I think Disney will work with the CM's to make sure those who need to be off for family emergency will be allowed to be off or work a greatly reduced scheduled.::yes:: :wave2:

We were supposed to go this weekend and are scheduled for next weekend also. Ivan is heading this way but it is too early to tell about that storm.
I wouldn't make changes for a trip next weekend yet, especially one that you have invested big bucks in for 5 people. Hopefully we won't ever see Ivan!!!

I think we should wait and see what kind of damage Frances does, it could be that many of the evacuees may still be there, especially if Ivan looks like it may make landfall in FL. I am in Tampa right now, and we have alot of wind, not to much rain yet but it is very windy. The thing is.....many people from the east coast evacuated to Orlando. I also think the airlines maybe backed up for several days. So I would think it is best just to wait until later in the week to really make a decision. Yes FL will need the tourism dollars............but we want people to be safe here. As far as the airline money I would think if flights were delayed or backed up they would let you rebook at a different date, this isn't a case of just missing a plane, it is a natural disaster. Just my opinion of course, we just do not know what the damage is yet and we do not know about Ivan until he gets closer, yes he is moving faster than Frances but it would be horrendous to this state to have yet a 3rd hurricane hit within a 3 week period!

we went right after charley. i did feel guilty about going. however, all the cms that were able to work were great as usual. go and have a wonderful time. they will be glad you are there.
