Would you go for this?

We spend that much for a weekend when we travel for my son's hockey tournaments. I think if you can afford it and really want to go, then do it. We are going next week and will only be on property for four nights. We have to fit it in between school and hockey, otherwise we would stay longer. It will take us 17 hours in the car each way but the kids are used to it. I've always wanted to see the Christmas lights/decorations so my DH said we should do it. This will be our 3rd trip this year (March 2011/July 2011).

I wouldn't do it that weekend because of the Christmas parade taping at MK, unless your plans did not involve MK at all. We were there that weekend last year. MVMCP was sold out and packed that Friday night. MK was really crowded that Saturday evening. We weren't at MK during the day those days, so I can't tell you what it was like. Sunday, MK was not bad...but we were also there that weekend the year the parade taping was rained out and they taped the Jonas Brothers on Sunday, and that Sunday at MK was nuts. It was an hour wait for Small World on "Jonas Brothers' Sunday".

i wouldn't do it. not worth it for only a few days. save the money for when you can take a longer trip and i'm sure you'll be happier, too.

I love short trips and have no issues taking them. I do spend alot on a short trip when compared with a longer trip but I am good with that.

I also like small trips. Sometimes those are the best. We used to do them all the time, Vegas to So. Cal just for a day or two. It would be different if OP didn't have to fly and could drive the distance in less than 5 hours or so. We often take quick trips to Seattle, a 4 1/2 hour drive for us. Those trips seem to be quick de-stressors and they are typically easy. Easy to pack, easy to get there and home and easy on the wallet. :thumbsup2 But back to OPs dilemma, sounds like she is not going to do it, and I think that is a good choice, sounds like a lot of $ and a long way to go for 2 days. Good idea to wait for DH to be with you, imo.
