Would you ever invite DIS "friends" to your home...

I did it once when 2 DISers came to visit from Florida for a weekend. That weekend is the stuff of legend.....:cool2: All other DISers I have met have been at other places. It's been ages since I have met any DISers.

There are some I would definitely invite, if I had a nicer home. It is amazing how many people I have come to really care about and have never even met before. I am not generally a hugger, but there are some I feel the need to hug when (if) I get to see them.

Papa, you know the people by now, invite them already. :goodvibes

Yikes, I just looked over this thread, I have met 10 people who have posted already (maybe more if any are reincarnations ;)) Though none at my home yet.

Chicago Dis Meet at Dan's house! :woohoo::woohoo: :lmao:

No way. I would meet them at a public place. (WDW maybe?:rolleyes1) I also would not go to anyone's home the first time I met them. How do I know they aren't completely bonkers? I don't care how much they post I would not go to their home. YMMV.

Never in a million years. The only places I want to meet DISers are WDW, DLR, Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySeas, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris. Maybe Universal. Maybe.

:rotfl:I've already done that!

DISer edk35 & I met on here in the winter or spring 2008 and learned that we live only about 15 min. apart. When school got out last June, she brought her kids over (she has three, I have two...all close in age) and we all had lunch. (Both our DH's thought we were crazy doing this, btw).

We've all become great friends and do things together as families both inside & outside of WDW.....the last thing being having a 4th of July crab feast & barbecue together last week.:woohoo:

We've also vacationed in WDW together several times (both families are DVC) since meeting and are looking forward to our BCV/AKV trips later this month. :yay:

It has been ONE BIG PARTY EVER SINCE TOO!!!!

:wave2: Hi Laurie!!! Yes we are probably the exception to the rule though. We did meet in 2008 and have been great friends ever since. Our kids hang out, we talk on the phone all the time, email and now vacation together. My son (14 at the time) thought I was nuts meeting someone I met online. His exact words were "mom they could be serial killers". :rotfl: Her daughter was concerned we were stalkers. :lmao: I would not recommend this to everyone, but we knew enough about each other's backgrounds to feel comfortable enough to meet at her house. I think it was fate.....we have become very close and so have our kids. :goodvibes

Somebody invite me. ;) I may not leave, though, if the snacks are good and the TV is large and you have Hi Def. :rotfl:

Well I finally met Disneymomx7 last week in disney and I would have no problem inviting her over to my house. She was just as sweet in real life as she is on here. (and her family was adorable!)

<~thinks Java is a good person and I'd trust her at my home just from one thread in particular she was very kind to me on...

I flew across the country and got picked up at the airport by a disser I'd never met and the two of us drove to the house of a third disser neither of us had ever met. Both turned out to be normal and great people, we had a great time and both would be welcome in my home.

And I've met a couple of other dissers who turned out to be semi-psycho.

I think there's a certain level of risk in anything we do.

Instinct and intuition has alot to do with it.... I've been very lucky so far ;)

HI DISNEY MOTHER! :wave2: :rotfl:

You know, I would if I was single. My wife grew up in a very bad neighborhood and is suspicious of everybody and everything.

What I am having is a pig roast. I did invite some "friends" from 2 other internet forums. One is even coming from Canada. ( I live west of Philly ). My wife wasn't too thrilled when I informed her of what I had done.

This forum is so big that it seems impersonal at times. The people I invited were from much smaller forums.

I have had some to my house, but it wasn't our first meeting. Our first couple of meetings we went to restaurants, then I had a bbq here, I went to one's wedding and anothers 40th b'day party. We have a blast!

No offense, but the people who live in my computer are not my friends. None of you are invited to my home.

I've made some good friends thanks to this forum and I would be glad to make a few more. I would invite a handful to my house but then I've been here forever.
