Inspired by another poll here on the Dining Board, lets find out what people feel about dining at Whispering Canyon Cafe (hereinafter WCC).

So for purposes of this poll assume that the only difference is that the servers no longer do the antics (straws, soda, catchup, etc) that this place is know for. The food and service would be the same. The location would be the same. The servers would still be costumed as they are now and would be friendly as they are now.

We enjoyed WCC on our past trip, but I agree that I wouldn't make a special trip for it (we were staying at Wilderness Lodge). Our kids loved it, though, and the antics.

We were just at WC in December and there was stil antics at our table and the surrounding ones. We has straws tossed at us, goofy napkin hats made, huge jars of drinks and lots of yelling and laughing. Seems our entire section was having a lot of fun.

Yes, but would they enjoy their meal if the antics didn't exist?

Yes even without the antics and even without staying at the WL. The restaurant is very easy to get to from the MK and in my opinion is better than any of the TS restaurants in the MK.

I won't go back to WCC regardless of the antics. We went once about 2 years ago and were seated in a room off the main room so we had no antics. We couldn't see any of the fun going on in the main dining room and our server didn't play anything up. The food was so so, my mother got very sick from it. I won't go back.

My family usually asked to be seated in the "Quiet Room" anyway, so removal the antics wouldn't change our opinion of WCC (other than we wouldn't have to request a table away from the antics anymore).

We didn't experience any antics on our visit in December and we not offered the card to indicate if we wanted to play or not. Perhaps my husband just looked too dour!

I picked it for the food and for the WL location so we could see the tree. I wasn't up to an Artist's Point meal.

So a lack of antics would probably be a plus for me!

I voted other because I've never been to know anything about how the food is BECAUSE I don't want to deal with the antics. If I want ketchup, I want enough for me - not crazy people throwing their bottles at me. Putting people in "jail"? I mean, really?

I know that you can now turn over a card saying YOU don't want to participate - but you're still in there with the craziness.

If they did away with them, I'd at least be willing to try it. But with them? No thank you.

Only been once, the skillet wasn't the greatest - was greasy, but haven't tried to return as the antics turned us off. We only wanted to relax and enjoy our meal.

Yes for breakfast... Quiet setting in the lodge and I loved the breakfast sandwich. He dinner and lunch menu are just okay for me. I would eat there antics or no if I was staying at the lodge.

If you aren't into the antics I would probably pass. We only went because we were staying at the WL. We didn't participate in the shenanigans, not our thing, but the waitress still messed with my hubby. I thoroughly enjoyed that:) Food was decent...nothing to write home about.

I've only been there once for lunch, but other than the repeated calls for "KETCHUP!!!!" I didn't really notice anything I'd describe as antics. The food was good, the service was competent and friendly, so I'd go back whether they did crazy stuff or not.

Honestly I liked the food so if convenient (staying in the lodge or leaving MK around dinner time anyway) yes... but I would prefer it with the antics. I liked them.

We had the same experience when we went a couple years ago. I was looking forward to at least a few antics, but there were none. I wasn't impressed with the food, so it won't be on my list to go again.

We had a blast with the antics. It reminded me of Lambert's Cafe in Alabama and Missouri. Our son was 4 at the time, and couldn't quite understand why they brought a tray full of ketchup (apparently he was the first person of the evening to ask for ketchup). My wife and I thought it was hilarious, but he couldn't grasp that he was expected to bring the whole tray minus 1 bottle to the next table that asked. He thought he had to give them his ketchup, and was NOT happy!

Regardless, the atmosphere without the antics would be just as nice, and we really enjoyed the all-you-can-eat options! We love it!
