the same week?

Is the food/programs sorta the same? :confused3

We have ADR's for Tues & Thurs with WCC 1st. Any suggestions/opinions?

TIA kathy :grouphug:

Both are "All you care to Eat" with similar menus. However the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review is a dinner show where as the WCC is a dinner with entertaining servers. I would do both in the same week. However we did the Hoop-Dee-Doo last year and the others in my party this year want to try something else. :confused3

We, me and my DS16, love HDDR. We are scheduled to go the first night we are there. However, we have never been to any of the eating places at the WL so on Tuesday night or Wednesday night we are going to the WCC. The food sounds similar but I barbeque and I usually only eat it during the summer.

We have ADR's at both. We will be at HDD on June 7 and WCC on June 8. I wanted to experience both and I figured if I was full of BBQ, I'd order off the menu at WCC. We can't wait!

My wife and I ate at hoop de doo last time we went and really enjoyed ourselves. We are doing it again when we go this July. Haven't been to the other.

I am having absolutely no help from hubby, so trying to do this alone and please him & the kids.

Any othe suggestions for DS9, DD7, a hubby who will eat anything ( and it shows!! What a big dog he is! ;) ) and me? Out first time out & all! :teeth:

I Have the Storybook princess breakfast booked, WCC, HDDR, but still dithering over others. Not sure DS, who will be almost 10, would want a character breakfast and hope to go for the rooms ones to save some money.

Thanks again for all help!

Depends on what you want to do. Buffets and all-you-care-to-eat style or typical sit down table service restaurants.

The 50's Prime-Time Cafe is always fun IMO (kids get to see their parents get scolded for having their elbows on the table). The menu features some pretty good food and the portions are sized nicely.

Character breakfasts are good for guaranteed photo-ops with the charcaters. Personally I enjoyed the Chef Mickey's character breakfast myself. Buffet style with plenty of different choices.

Ohana's is an All-You-Care-To-Eat featuring skewers of pork, chicken, ribs, and steak. Maui Scalloped potatoes, appetizers of chicken wings & peel & eat shrimp. Dessert is a bread pudding with some kind of pineapple sauce. I really enjoyed Ohana's.

Since your DH is a big eater I'd stear clear of Cinderella's castle. Although the food is good the "bang for your buck" factor is less here than at other restaurants.

The Liberty Tree Tavern is another AYCTE featuring characters at dinner. Turkey & Ham, mashed taters, mac & cheese, and stuffing are the menu here.

Well that's my advice. Hope it helps.

This is incorrect information.

The WCC is not "all you care to eat" and they do not have similar menus.

The WCC does have an "all you care to eat" skillet meal but that is only one item on the menu. It also has a regular menu with various entrees that can be ordered.

The menus for the two are very different and the experience is very different.

Checkout alleasnet.com for further information.

@ Minnie: My information is not totally incorrect. The WCC does have an all you can eat meal. The HDDR is AYCE. So in essence both can be AYCE. Granted I forgot that WCC does also offer regular menu items. The AYCE menus IMO are similar. Never once did I state that the experience of the two restaurants were the same.

Have you looked at Ohanas? Lots of people seem to enjoy it, or at least their kids do.

Sheesh chill out I just said that your information was incorrect on the fact that they were not both AYCE.

I was just there last Sunday night and enjoyed a great meal. The skillet is only one part of the menu which by the way I did mention in my post.

I am sorry I offended you.

We did both last fall and enjoyed them both. It was our 2nd time at WCC and 3rd time at HDDR.

Also in response to your question "Is the food/progams sorta the same?", as minnie stated, they are totally different in food, experience and atmosphere. You did not state that they were same, but you asked if they were and she answered you.

In 2004 we stayed at WL for one night before our cruise. We went to WCC for lunch, and HDDR for dinner that same day! We all survived. Since I had the skillet for lunch, I went easy on the beans at HDDR. :rolleyes1

We'll be at WCC on June 8th also and then HDDR on June 11th. We loved the HDDR in 2001 and are eager to return. Heck, we're from Texas...can you get too much BBQ?!

We are doing both - HDDR on 8/17 and WCC on 8/18. We've done HDDR and LOVED it so we have to do it again! It will be a first for WCC and I was contemplating separating a few days in between since I know from the photos posted that I have to get the Skillet! But this is how it worked out. Can't wait!
