Would you drive 12 1/2 hrs for 4 days at VB? Is it worth it?

We are new owners (at SSR) and wanted to come down for fall break. There are no rooms available at WDW or HHI. (F&W, MNSSHP & Columbus Day...) But there were rooms available at VB. I know we would love it but do I want to drive that far for 4 days??? Any opinions?? It will be me, DH, DS13 & DS10. I know we would all love the resort & the beach.

It's a beautiful, but quiet resort. We liked it very much, but if it rains there isn't much to do (in my opinion) that wouldn't involve getting in the car and going somewhere. We were lucky and had good weather-so we enjoyed the beach and the pool is beautiful. We'd go out for dinner every night and then just sit on the balcony with a glass of wine and a book. Maybe someone with children the same age as yours will have some suggestions-we're empty-nesters!

Only if you love the ocean or want to chill out and eat and drink. We love the resort and drive about 4 hrs. Get an ocean view and enjoy.

I would do it! If you want a beach vacation, and family get away, go for it!

It is worth it if you want a more laid back experience that is beach centric and you enjoy the Space Coast's other offerings. We try to get there for at least a long weekend each year.

Haven't been to VB, but I'm not going 12.5 hours in a car and not see some Pirates, Ghosts,Mickey, and Alice.

We drive 13 hrs to hilton head and love it.

It depends. Do you mind driving? We would say it was worth it because DH love driving on long road trips.

I would! But I love VB Why don't you book it and then waitlist for SSR and OKW. You still have time, something at WDW might come in.

12+ hours for a week at the beach is one thing.... but for 4 days? Not a chance. Sorry... i spend a week at the OBX each year and that's only 9 hours for me... i'd not do it for anything less than 7. JMO.

Yep-definately a problem for me to drive through Orlando & just keep going. Not sure I can force myself to do that. But we are going for spring break in March. Already have my trip "home" booked at SSR

I agree somewhat. That is a long way. Our trip down would be broken up in 2 days. We would have to come home all in one shot in order to have 4 nights there.

Thanks for the input guys. I know no one can make the decision but me but it's good to hear other's opinions.... You guys rock & I am so thrilled to be a part of the DVC family now
