Would you do it?

I'm booked at WDW with the family for 10 days in December -- we'll be doing only Disney for the trip (oh, yeah, and visiting DH's aunts and uncles -- sigh).

I've got a conference in Newport Beach in September and can go to DL on a Friday afternoon (1 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.) for $70 including bus transportation.

Seems like a lot, but haven't been to DL before. We've got the big family trip in December, but my little voice (and I don't think it's Jiminy Cricket) keeps saying, "But you want to go, and you won't have this opportunity without the kids!"

Any advice?

A day at Disneyland, by myself to just soak it all in for $70. You bet I would! Go for it, every Disney fan owes it to themself and Walt's memory to visit the original at least once. Have a great time if you do go!

Yeah, its expensive, but its 8 hours in the park! I would do it with out question.

Yes, go for it! Three weeks ago I chaufeurred DD and her BF to DL and had 2 1/2 days at DLR to myself. Ate the snacks I wanted, got to choose the rides and rested whenever I felt like it. Go and have a Great Time!!

Another Yes Vote!
I enjoy my time at DL alone. GO! :)

Definitely GO! You won't regret it! In September all the 50th stuff will still be out, how can you resist being there for THE Anniversary of our lifetime!!

DH & I just went our first time to D-land since we were kids... and alone! Oh it was so wonderful even just walking through and seeing the differences between D-land and MK! We are so glad we took advantage of the opportunity.
Read my trip report and you'll be sold!

Like everyone else said, GO!! There's no way I could be that close and not go!

The DW and I fly out of LAX for WDW at 1045 PM onn Sep 10th. I'm still trying to get her to go to DL during the day, so I guess I would do it.

... I have got her to agree to Universal Studios for the day, but I'm still pushing for DL :confused3

With transportation included, I don't think $70 sounds too bad really! I would definitely go!

I'll be going for the first time in September... with my small children and DH. I know there will be things I'll wish I could do but can't. You'll be able to do exactly what you want, go the pace you want, skip attractions or go 10 times if you want! As a parent, you know this is a rare opportunity. Don't waste it! :sunny:

I totally agree with everyone else. GO! I have been to Disneyland many, many times by myself. Usually it has been after a conference or some business thing. Go and only go to Disneyland. Don't even worry about DCA or DTD. You just won't have the time.

One year, while I was a Disney Store manager, we went to our annual conference at the Disneyland Hotel. My ignorant and very stupid district manager did not allow us any time to go to the park. AND WE WERE RIGHT NEXT DOOR!! So at the end of the conference, I booked an extra night at the hotel for myself, and told my boss that I would not be returning with the rest. I paid for my own flight back home and stayed behind so I could spend 4 hours in the park.

Don't miss out on this opportunity.

I'll echo what everyone else has said...GO!!!! :-)

If you've been to WDW before, try to concentrate on the things that are at Disneyland that *aren't* at Magic Kingdom, especially the Indiana Jones ride and Fantasyland. And just enjoy the ambience of Fantasyland and Toontown, which I think are SO much better than their Magic Kingdom counterparts.

Bummer that you have to leave by 9:00...that means no Fantasmic! or fireworks. :-(

And enjoy the freedom to walk around and do what YOU want to do, instead of what someone else wants! :-)

Thanks for the input!
I am so glad you decided to go! It really is a wonderful place to go, there is no way I would be in the vicinity of the west coast and not go! :rotfl:

Add me to the list of those who say YES! The thought of going on whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, how many times I wanted. Spending as long as I wanted in the stores and shopping as I wanted. Resting when I wanted. LOL Oh man, that's a nice dream!

DH and I went twice before we had our son. While it's so much better seeing it through my son's eyes we still had a blast. :) GO and have FUN!
