Not sure if I'm just being too picky here; what do you think?

We're members of our great local children's museum and go there often. The best time of day for us to go is at about 3:30p.m. The museum closes at 5p.m. However, shortly after we arrive--maybe around 4p.m.--the staff starts shutting down some of the best exhibits, cleaning and closing off the restrooms, and putting things away. Once someone followed us around with a bottle of Windex and cleaned each exhibit after we passed. DS really wanted to go back to an exhibit we'd already looked at (and which had already been cleaned) but I didn't want the worker to have to clean fingerprints off it again so I told DS "no."
On our last visit I heard one staff member telling another (at about 4:15p.m.) "Let's go ahead and get everything closed up and we can all be out of here by 5!"

My kids still have a great time but we always miss out on a lot since things are shut down before closing time. Should I write a letter to the management, or just accept this and try to get there earlier? Thanks--I never want to make a nuisance of myself, or make life hard on other people unnecessarily :)

I'd probably call to talk to a manager or someone. They seem to do that at our children's museum too now that I think of it. We like to go in the afternoon since it's not as crowded and they're usually picking stuff up while we're there. You paid for the membership, so you should be able to take advantage of the museum during the posted museum hours.

Yep, follow up with the management of the museum. Sounds like the staff need a bit more training.

I didnt read it, but put me down as you should complain

I think you should. It sounds like a staff scheduling problem. If a place closes at 5, the staff should be scheduled until 5:30 or 6:00. I had this problem with my staff. I don't know where they got it in their heads that "3:00-close" meant that they would leave when the clinic closed. No, if we close at 6:00, you can't make dinner reservations for 6:30. You won't make it! Clients (guests, in the museum) at the end of the day get the shaft! It sounds like the management needs to make some scheduling changes.
