Hi! I'm wondering which to go with...CP or CRT. DH and I are doing the Keys to the Kingdom Tour in January one day and I'm trying to decide which place to have breakfast before. I've been to CRT...YUM! but never to CP. DH has never been to either. I'm keeping this a surprise for him. I did ask if he prefered the princesses or Pooh characters and he said neither. :confused3 So, I'm not sure which to choose...

HELP??? I'd love to hear your opinions!

Thanks!
Stacie

I have only been to Crystal Palace, but we were choosing between CRT & the Princess Breakfast at Akerhaus when we went in May and we ended up with Akerhaus. CRT seems way overpriced, in my opinion and if you're not married to the whole princess idea, then I think I'd pick Crystal Palace. I might even pick that at my favorite breakfast in all of Disney World. The puffed french toast is to die for! My mouth is watering now just thinking about it!

Eating in the castle for me is much more the novelty than the food or characters. Truly, we've done it once and never again. We do Crystal Palace every trip, or at least try to. I like being able to get my own food at the buffet, and I enjoy the characters much more!

Now, it is just my husband and I so I'm sure that colors it a bit, especially since he's super shy around face characters. But if you're looking at Character Meals I adore Crystal Palace!

However, since he said neither... what about breakfast at a close by Resort? We LOVE going to Kona Cafe for breakfast and get some Tonga Toast! Then it's just a quick monorail ride over :D

I actually have not been to CP, but last week we did breakfast at CRT. OMG....I did not think it would be so good.....it was really a great meal & great experience. I don't know if your dh will care for a princess meal tho. He will get a sword tho..:rotfl:

CP is a must do for us on every trip and I prefer to do a breakfast there. CRT-we did it once for breakfast and thought it was not worth the hype. The food was fine (not great nor bad) and the price is ridiculous even by WDW standards. I don't plan on ever eating there again. MAYBE if my kids were super-duper princess freaks, then maybe I'd consider it (but even then--I'd rather go to Akershus).

Have done both and it totally depends on what experience you want....we love CP food but also liked that our meal was brought to us at CRT..we are doing it again this trip..couldnt get CP..we will have 14 in our party.

Go to Crystal Palace. You get your choice of food there. CRT you get what they give you. The only reason to go to CRT is if you have a little one that loves princesses.

Another vote for CP. I love love love the puffed french toast. So good. It is an excellent breakfast buffet with much to choose from. And only one credit!

I voted Crystal Palace because the food is consistently very good there. :thumbsup2

I love CP. Haven't been to CRT in any recent years though. CP has great food, and I especially love the Puffed French Toast! I dream about that stuff! It's also cheaper than CRT. Since you've done CRT already and DH doesn't care, why not go with CP and trying something new?

Also, fyi the KTTK tours are at 8:30, 9, and 9:30, so make you sure you schedule your ADR early enough to have time to eat. You're supposed to meet to sign in for the tour 15 minutes before the start time. I think it's next to city hall.

Eeyore, Eeyore, Eeyore!!!!!! He is not at the castle!

Thanks so much for all the replies! I think I may cancel CRT and try CP. Our tour is the 9:30 one so if have breakfast ressies at CP by about 8/8:15, I think that would give us enough time... don't you think?

Thanks again for the help! I'm so glad to see that so many really like the food at CP!!!

As you have done CRT, I would do CP. It's a very good breakfast buffet, and much cheaper. I would want to do each at least once.

I have 4 and when I asked them if we could try CP instead of CRT they were very upset so it looks like CRT for us.

Being inside the castle is cool and all, but for the money, CP is the only way to go. It is buffet where as the castle is already on a plate and there is hardly anything on the plate or the menu for that matter. We went to both last year for the first time and CP won for food and quality for sure. The restaurant itself is pretty nice too.

We prefer dinner at CRT(especially at fireworks time!) Crystal Palace is AWESOME for breakfast! Get meeting those characters out of the way early! AND no waiting in lines!

I hear that about being expensive. It costs 2 table meals instead of 1, but it looks great for my girls that love princesses... I have 4 and want them to experience it before they get too old. I think they will still enjoy CP when they are older so we'll go some other time. As for buffets, we are going to Chef Mickey's and my favorite characters will be there lol

I'm really enjoying all this feedback. If I had girls, I think I'd def be at CRT, but since it's just DH and me... He's never been to either and I'm sure he would like the idea of a buffet.

For this trip we will also do O'hana, Big River Grill, Trails End buffet for dinner and Boma for breakfast. 2 breakfast buffets, but I love breakfast food!!!
