Right now we have BBB booked at 5:00 at the Castle, with dinner at CRT at 6:50 on July 1. However, MK is the least recommended park that day due to EMH etc...

Would you try and change your plans so that you're at MK on a more recommended day?

ETA:

Here are our options if we switch to a recommended-park day:

9:05 BBB at Downtown Disney with lunch at CRT at 1:20. So we'll arrive in park probably around 10:30, go back to house for a break after lunch, come back for the evening. Fair amount of driving around.

12:40 BBB at castle with lunch at CRT at 1:20. We would just arrive in park for the 12:40 BBB, then plan on staying right through the afternoon/evening.

Or, we can just leave it as is... with BBB at 5:00, CRT at 6:50... knowing that it's a non-recommended day due to EMH and will be busy.

We love having the BBB/CRT combo early in the day. Given my choice, I would to BBB before park open, then play in Fantasyland and take photos in the park, followed by an early lunch at CRT. If you don't plan to do the EMH and can move those reservations, I would.

It would depend on what my expectations were for the day. If I wanted to spend the entire day in MK and ride as much as possible, then yes, I would probably switch days (or at least see if those reservations could be moves). If the goal of the day was more about the reservations than spending all day riding,.I would likely spend the morning and early afternoon in a recommended park and hop to MK for the reservations. Whether or not I scheduled fp+ for that evening in MK (assuming hopping) would depend on what park I was in earlier. If I spent the morning and afternoon at AK, I'd schedule fp+ for MK...DHS, i would schedule for DHS....epcot would depend if we made RD there. If we did, and rode soarin at RD, I would schedule fp+ for MK.

If you're not hopping and If you will use EMH, then I wouldn't move those reservations. I'm assuming they're hard to get, especially lined up timing-wise just right. If they're not flexible and you really won't stay long enough to take advantage of EMH, I'd still keep them with a plan of doing rope drop (hopefully evening EMH goers will be later arrivals) and just know that mid-day will be getting pretty crowded. I like all the recommended/not recommended and crowd level input, but definitely personal plans override general guidelines when needed for me.

We do not have pass hoppers and we wont be using EMH.
I've called and for possible times we can get a 9:05 at Downtown Disney in the morning with a 1:20 lunch. So... is that a good option? How bad will it be driving from DtD back to Magic Kingdom? What time would we realistically get to MK? (their package should only take 30-40 minutes)

I don't know how long driving takes, but I'd imagine you'd be back at MK by 10:45/11 (perhaps earlier). For me, that would be too late to get to MK on a least recommended day. Without hoppers and not using emh, I would try to change the reservation to a recommended day if possible.

Sorry, those new times that I mentioned (the 9:05 at DtD) IS on a recommended park day. The other reservation time that I mentioned in my original post (5:00 BBB, 6:50 CRT) is on a non-recommended day.

So assuming we leave DtD at 9:45, get to MK at 10:10, we could probably be in park at 10:30? That would give us about 2.5 hours for rides before our lunch at CRT. We'd go home for a break after that, and then be back probably around 5:00 and stay for the rest of the evening. Probably have around 6-7 hours for rides/attractions.

The other way we'll arrive in the morning, stay till 1:00 come back for our BBB at 5:00, could probably have about 45 minutes for a ride in betweeen BBB and CRT, then have another hour or so after dinner for rides. So probably would have around the same amount of time.

I agree it would be best to change. But I personally would not switch from the MK location. I think it's pretty special getting made up in the castle.

When are you going? That could make a difference.

Keep trying. Openings come up all the time.

Yeah, I really wanted the castle. The only time we can get at the castle on a recommended day is 12:40, we could go right from there to lunch. But... we had planned on going back for rest during the afternoon, so that makes it kinda pointless to get all made up just to leave. Unless, we just arrived at the park at lunch and stayed through. We could do BBB at 12:40, do lunch at 1:20, then just stay right through the afternoon/evening?

If it were me, the bolded is what I'd probably do. We arent ones to leave midday, though, even with DD2.5. I'm more likely to find a way to relax in the park (a long TS meal like CRT, going to Tom Sawyers Island for a bit, riding liberty belle for a while, etc). She's generally napped in her stroller if she's going to nap at all, so that wasn't part of our planning.

If you did change, would you try and keep CRT in the evening, or would you try and do BBB/CRT in the morning?
If you're going to be at BBB and then dinner at CRT, why would crowds matter to you?

Once you factor in FP+ for other things, how much more will you want to do that crowd level (or Recommend vs. Worst) will have a negative impact on your tour for the day?

Moving BBB to morning is counterproductive if you are trying to accomplish visiting more attractions.

Best advice to do more things is to arrive at any Park in the morning and ride your rides. If staying all day in the Park, then utilize FP+ for busiest times of day (between 11am-3pm). See the Parade.

Then your current BBB and CRT ADR's would seem to be AOK, IMHO.

I guess the reason I was concerned about attending on a higher capacity day is because we plan on doing other things than just the BBB and CRT also we only have 3 fast passes we certainly plan on doing more than three rides we have two special needs children so we would prefer lower capacity if at all possible to make it easier on them

when are you going? Do you need the break from the park because it's summer/hot or because your kids being special needs have to have down time? if it's just because summer/hot then you could just plan to do an indoor show/activity during afternoon instead of leaving. Also, are you talking about a difference between a 7 and a 10 or between a 4 and a 10 as far as crowd level? If it's between an 8 and a 10 then to me it wouldn't make much of a difference in crowds. The least busy time of day is at RD so I would definitely not do the 9:05 BBB in DTD. I'd consider either the 12:40/1:20 but arrive at RD then leave park from 3-6ish right after lunch for break and come back OR keep your original reservations.

Depends on the reason. Our visit to BBB and CRT was on an actual birthday for the child it was for, so no--under that circumstance, I wouldn't touch it.

I think the DTD/CRT lunch option is best if she wants to enjoy princess time in the parks.

The 12:40 BBB/1:20 CRT is quite unlikely to work as the times are too close together.

Time: We're visiting last week of June/first week of July so it will be HOT.
Crowd predictor: Is at an 8 (wdw) all days. (6-7 on other sites)
Reason: our trip is kind of a birthday/10th anniversary/personal celebration all rolled into one. Our trip falls right in between our two children's birthdays, right after our 10th anniversary, and the BBB/CRT is our treat to our 5 year old daughter who has autism and is a heart disease survivor and is a huge Princess/Cinderella fan. (our son's special treat is Pirates League on a different day).

Based on some of the last input, I think maybe it's best to just leave it as is?
