Would you buy MaxPass for a light park day?

Need to cancel our DCL cruise next summer so instead we decided to visit DLR for the second time but this time with the kids. We will stay in Anaheim 6 nights and San Diego another 6 nights mid August 2020. Planning on getting 5 days PH tickets for 2-3 intensive days in the parks with Maxpass and another 2-3 days where we will only do a couple of hours at rope drop then leave for the day at the beach or other activities in the area before returning to DLR for the evening (only way I could sell the idea of the 5 days tickets to DH). On those 'light days', would you buy the MaxPass? It's 60$usd (80$cad) for the 4 of us and we are buying it for sure for our intensive days... Would be nice to book FPs during the day for the evening but I'm not sure it's worth the cost... What do you think?

It sounds like you're purchasing it once you enter the parks, correct? If that's the case, wait to see how the crowds are and make an informed decision at that time.

I agree I would buy it even for the partial days. Main reason is because you will be returning to the parks in the evening. If you scan in the morning, then when you are at the beach, you can be booking FPs for later that evening from your phone. You can stack up all the good rides, and then run through the parks in the evening, riding all of your FP rides. I did this the day we went to Universal. We scanned into DCA EMH before we headed to Universal (since DCA opened that morning at 7am). Then while at Universal, I booked a bunch of FPs for the evening, and when we got back to DLR, we had the best time!

Otherwise, when you return in the evening, lines may be very long, and you will be tired and not want to stand in the SB lines. So then you get much less value out of your ticket. I LOVE MP and can’t see ever going without it!!

Even if the crowds are light, I would lean towards buying MP for at least one person just for PP. Having the ride photos and being able to stop whenever we see a PP CM would be worth it to us.

It is 100 percent worth it. Just think the FP lines are normally a shorter walk to the ride so to me that is worth it to save time. As soon as you scan in for your MP you can get another one so while your walking you can get another one. Plus I like to be able to get FP while I am at my hotel resting too. I will never go to Disneyland and not use it again. I will say MP has made Disney World FP feel so terrible lol
