Why would I boycott and hurt the tourism industry that the citizens of Aruba depend on?

I don't believe in blaming citizens of a country for the actions of their government.

I agree. What would happen to the US if other Countries boycotted us for every crime committed against their visiting citizens?

Nope, I would not boycott Aruba. Matter of fact I just started planning a trip today to visit there next year.

I'm not really interested in going there. I only like to go to WDW.

So I can't really answer honestly if I'd boycott or not, but I was feeling like I would definitley boycott. Then I read this thread. Now I'm almost sure I wouldn't boycott Aruba.

I'm sorry they lost their daughter too, and I'd be going absolutely stark raving mad if one of my kids was missing. I am sure BHT feels like the boycott is deserved and maybe it is. I really can't judge since it isn't me who lost a daughter. But DH & I have discussed this case and both feel sending a kid just out of high school to a foreign country is probably not something we'd do. Especially not one of our kids!! Yikes.

I live for the day I can say that. The closest I ever came to being there was on a cruise, and it was raining.

My friends son honeymooned there very recently and the attitude towards Americans has changed drastically - and not for the better..

For those planning a trip there, you might want to wait until that young lady is found and the culprits prosecuted - no matter how long it takes..
