My son and I are going back to disney this summer.

We are All Star kinda people. Since the whole disney experience is still new to us, we spend most of our time in the parks.

During our last trip, we went to Beaches N Cream for lunch. As we were walking around the lobby my son;he was 9 at the time; looked around wide eyed and said "Mommy this must be where the rich people stay!":)

When we walked pasted Storm along bay, he flipped out. He wanted to swim there so badly. But of course I said no.

I thinking it would be a nice surprise to stay there for one night. This way he can get a chance play in SAB.

The only way I'm willing to do this is if I can get a great rate with a code or AP rate and only for one night.

So would you do this for just one night?

Yes and here's how I would do it:

Do the regular AS thing and then at the end of the trip (when he thinks you are leaving), have a "great idea" to go over to Beaches and Cream again before you leave. Have a bag ready with bathing suits! I would then say, "How you would like to spend the night ?" I can guess what the answer will be!!! Spend the whole day in the pool and go to the character breakfast the next morning!!! What a great way to end a trip!

I think susy has a great idea!!! I would definitely want to do it at the end of my stay, because I wouldn't want to have to check out of the BC and then into All-Stars.

If you can find a code or discount so you can do it, I bet it will be something your DS never forgets! (Although, he may never want to stay anywere else! ;) )

Oh yes, do it, do it!!!! Susy's idea is perfect! What a great surprise that would be!

Yep, weve done it 3x. Twice we added on a night at the Poly to the end of a stay at ASMO. This worked well as we spent our last day at MK and also were able to enjoy the Poly pool, Kona Cafe, etc... The other time we had 1 day/night in WDW before a cruise and also spent that day at the Poly.
Go for it!

We did this last August. We stayed 5 nights at All Star Movies during the Disneyana Convention, then on Sunday we moved over to the Boardwalk, we got an AP standard room discount. It was wonderful and very relaxing after a tough convention..of walking all around Epcot in the heat. I just stayed on the property and rested, swam in the pool and we really enjoyed ourselves. We asked for late check out and were able to stay in the room until 1PM.

Hi there...

Definately do it if you can manage!

I can just imagine his face when he finds out he is staying - and able to swim at SAB...

I wish you the best of luck.. I hope you get a great rate somehow.

Your son will remember this for the rest of his life!!

>>^..^<<

Thanks everyone.

Susy, I love your idea. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Now if disney would just release the AP rates for July.

DEFINATELY! I love Susy's idea too. And remember that you can use the pool the day you check in and the day you check out...so hopefully your plane or travel plans are for later in the day and you can enjoy the morning/early afternoon at the pool. Have a wonderful trip!

I concur. My husband just about has a heart attack over the cost of things at the theme parks. So, there are times I go cheap with the rooms except for the last day. Then we stay were the kids and I want to stay and spend the day at the resort. The kids are happy and it turns out my husband enjoys himself as well.

Here's an idea too. You could always see if you could rent one night's points from a DVC member in a studio at the BCV. At the going rate of $10/point, it would cost you between $120-$180 a night depending on the season.

<B>Yes! </B>
We are doing this during our next trip in April.

We are spending our last night at the Yacht Club. We are going to spend the day we check in (Fri) lounging at the Pool (SAB) and then we are going to have dinner in Epcot since its so close.

We are also going to check out the Mini Golf too that day, since its right around the corner.

Have a great trip!!

I think it's more of a pain to switch resorts. Well, atleast it is for my family of 5.
